I wish Tacoi well, but he wasn't going to get the PT he wanted at UO behind Addison/Kelley/DAT/Vaughn/Huff/Dungy, and even Chance Allen and Dwayne Stanford this season, let alone balls to Lyerla at TE. Chip likely helped Sumler find an FCS option that works for him, and it seems like Sumler is leaving on good terms. He was struggling with downfield blocking a bit, which as we know, matters a lot in Chip's offense.
He simply just wasn't good enough at this point to crack the rotation. 4 years ago, he wouldn't be transferring, and he'd be getting PT this season. This stuff happens once a team starts recruiting a different caliber of athlete at the skill positions. Where Oregon still is lacking is on the lines in terms of recruiting, but that seems to be correcting itself as well.
