Bummer, crap, etc.But with a lockout looming as the current collective bargaining agreement is about to expire on June 30, the final part of the routine will be broken. The NBA announced Friday that summer league will be cancelled this year.
http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2011/06/cancellation_of_summer_league.htmlFor the Blazers, that’s a disappointing development, especially for one of last year’s picks, guard Elliot Williams. Williams, selected out of Memphis with the No. 22 pick, missed last year’s summer league after suffering a knee injury during draft workouts, then missed the entire season after dislocating his right patella. His only game action in a Blazers uniform was 47 minutes in four preseason games.
This will hurt our picks and further experience with Babbitt, A.Johnson, etc.
