What does the "years" mean? It sounds like Cj has no experience, and Will only has 1. Do we just add 1 to each to yield NBA experience?

Edit: also the oldest player on the team is still 6 months younger than me. =[ I'm old now.

DONT BE CRUEL BOBBY!

Gibson is interesting.

Lit it up in China. Pure shooter who is a decent defender?

Years as a professional basketball player. CJ was a rookie, Trob and Will had 1 full year of experience.

It is just weird how it is dated. Like it must pre date the end of the regular season or something. Because technically today Trob has 2 years and CJ has 1.

This is how I feel about our SL roster:

Dower Power is gonna make the cut!

Freeland made his SPL debut seven years ago.

He should be shamed.

I wonder if they have him on it to see how CJ/Barton play the point with a player they will actually be on the court with against non regular competition.

I don't think the guy has really earned the right to pass on SL yet.

I think that was the point fez was trying to make. He should be ashamed that it's been 7 years and he still has to play for the SL team.

I'm sure he doesn't HAVE to - after all, the man has a guaranteed contract. He's just humble, is all.

Plus, it's not like he played in it all seven years. He played the year he was drafted and then last year. (I think the year before that he played for the GB team.)

Meanwhile, Claver's playing for Spain again. (Interesting that Mirotic isn't. I don't think it's because he isn't good enough, it's because of some rule that only allows one naturalized player, and this year it's Ibaka.)

Yeah, I imagine he wants to keep improving, and I bet he also knows that his job is far from secure.

That is true and if that is the case then he should be anything but ashamed. Respect if that's the case, but I doubt he is doing summer league just to get better.

Nominations for stars of Summer League?

(Interesting that one of last year's stars, Kent Bazemore, just got cut loose by the Lakers.)

Well, he also hasn't really played since he got hurt. I bet he wants to shake off some of the rust.

Different Josh Davis.

The one you're thinking if is the Josh from Salem who played at Wyoming.

This one is from SDSU.

They must have the wrong one listed, because it says Wyoming '02.

Okay then, there's still Eric Dawson for the Hawks, Chris Johnson for Orlando, and (oh my God) Chris Crawford for Orlando and DELONTE WEST for the Clippers!

Fez does bring up an interesting point though. We stashed him for a long time to develop overseas. You would assume he wouldn't need summer league to get better, which would support your belief that the team is allowing, not asking him to do summer league.

However if I were right and they do want him to do summer league then it would suggest that he is not where the team wants him to be, or they see growth in him. Perhaps the team brought him over prematurely? If I recall he came here those 2 or so years ago when we had no front court depth. Him and Claver were both kind of emergency situations. The difference is I see Potential in Joel that I don't so much see in Claver.

Well wiggins and Parker will kill Orlando summer league. Going to be interesting seeing vegas vs Orlando SL this year since most of the stars went to the east.

I can see Julius Randle doing well.

Depending on the minutes they get obviously Will and CJ are capable of being summer league MVP if they wanted to.

Freeland's work ethic and dedication should be respected.
I love this player, I love that even with limited athletic ability and without amazing talent he's able to make a positive impact just by being smart and working hard.
Here's hoping he can use this summer to further improve his game (like he did beautifully last year) and earn real minutes in the rotation.

If Barton isn't MVP, it's a big failure for him.

Did Davion Berry play college ball with Lillard?

What are Joel's other options in getting better over the summer? Working out with his teammates and coaching staff in Portland/Vegas or hitting the local gyms in England/Spain?

I give him a lt of credit for making the right choice. Especially since he is away from home the rest of the year as well.

So Blazers will probably give CJ and Barton a run at PG. But any pure PGS on the roster from D-league on the roster that Blazers might be eyeing for that last roster spot?

Surprised no Coby Karl this year. He's actually a pretty good pt guard

I would love to see a Coby or someone like that on the SL roster.

I've made my thoughts known on the Kaman trade ( and not much has changed after prcocessing it further). But what's done is done and Blazers have to go forward from here.

Fact is Blazers used up their MLE on a backup center while having two backup centers and no backup PGs. Blazers can not go into the season with the current roster.

NO has all summer, but he has to fill that last spot with a PG or it will be an ugly season coming up.

I guess we can always sign an aging PG on the downside of their career for 1 yr or maybe the Blazers have a PG in mind and will test them out in SL.
