Yeah, I can't watch too many at a time. That'd be like @KingAlbertoJrSpeed watching a whole shitload of Bones reruns.....
It was like 2 years ago i had remembered watching 1 episode when i was a kid and thinking dr house's ass holishness reminded me of someone i knew. So i started watching and was hooked. Then i realized that i am the exact same kind of ass hole, and ill probably die of cancer.

Stranger things was interesting. I'll be interested to hear what you think when you are done with it.

Spoilers below.
My take is that when she was going into the darkness she was going into her mind and so she in a sense created the monster or something. That's why she said "I am the monster". Was the opening of the rift what they wee trying to do all along? Or did the agency not want that either...

Is she still out there, the scene at the end leads you to believe it's possible.

I really enjoyed Stranger Things. Just had that old school cool vibe to it. And I think you're correct about your spoiler.

I just finished Stranger Things. What a cool show.

"ShitHoused"? Really?

I'm currently watchung the Netflix series Last Chance U..... ridiculously good. Well produced and directed. These real life series sometimes go over the top and film too much but this show does none of that. They obviously spent a lot of time in the editing room. Great stories and characters..... Damn, you just want to hug some of these kids.... they've been through the ringer.

Wow, Last Chance U was really good. Must see if you love sports.

People in hot fucking humid Texas. God I hate summers here.

EXACTLY! When it's 105 every freaking day, you don't feel like going outside real often.

I'm working on both Stranger Things and Night Of right now and both seem to be really good.

Well it's not quite summer TV, but I just finished watching season 2 of fargo, holy shit, one of the best stand alone seasons of anything I've ever seen! Season 1 is decent, but season 2 is unrelated to season 1 and if amazing. Skip season 1, watch season two, and go fuck yourself!

Watch season 1 again of Fargo. Some of the best dark humor.

LOVED it. But agree with this:

What I liked about it:
Mostly unknowns, but generally excellent acting, especially Eleven (she's worryingly good - hope she's not heading down the Tatum O'Neal road).
Ordinary-looking people, not Young Hollywood. Even Winona Ryder looks ordinary now.
Love the synth soundtrack and Stephen King lettering.
Really sucks you in over the course of the 8 episodes.

What seemed off:
The mention of The Smiths. Some American kid living in Indiana would not have included The Smiths in his list of cool bands in 1983. They were still "indie" in England then. Stick with Joy Division and maybe The Cure.
The The Thing poster. Fits in the older kid's room (next to The Evil Dead) but not with Mike - too scary.

RIP Barb.

I haven't watched true detectives yet, but everything I hear, that first season is also stand alone perfection.

Two things I didn't like about season 1:
Key & Peele. Too jarring, didn't really fit.
I just can't warm to Martin Freeman. I know you're not supposed to, but he just seems so obviously ACTING the whole time. (I find Sherlock pretty much unwatchable, because Cumberbatch is another one like that.) William H. Macy was so much better in the movie.
Allison Tolman was fucking awesome though.

Some people think Adele is a terrible singer. Sherlock is fabulous.

Hm. I was watching it at the same time as Fargo, and frankly, Fargo is better. TD is worth watching for McConaughey and (especially) Harrelson, and for the mood. Also there's a single long shot where they have to get out of a shady neighborhood that is one of the best things ever. But in general, the plot is tissue thin and the ending is a copout.

What do people think of Preacher? Just finished the season and the ending was a bit bleak. It's watchable and the three main characters (all Brits putting on accents - fitting as the comic was written by Brits) are engaging, but... it's no Stranger Things.

Season 1 is fan fucking tastic. I personally think season 1 of Fargo is better but if you haven't seen True Detectives you're in for a treat.

I get confused trying to remember which shows people liked. Everyone watched Luther?

We just binged all 6 seasons of Game of Thrones in maybe 3 weeks. Having withdrawals now. It was like watching a 60 hour movie.

Idris Elba is just a badass. Him running around in his heavy coat kinda waddling makes him seem so unusual. There just aren't enough episodes.

Idris Elba is also in The Wire. Great actor. Too bad the rumors of him being the next James Bond turned out not to be true.

So irrelevant that he would be the first black Bond when what was important was that he could be the next GREAT Bond. I like Daniel Craig as well but he hasn't become THE Bond.

Sean Connery will always be THE Bond.

But I do enjoy the darker tone of the series with Craig.

I meant more like how Bill Russell was the NBA before MJ was the NBA. I would go darker with Elba (no pun intended)

His character in Luther is basically what he could be in Bond but cranked to 11.
