Nice to see both the Offense and Pitching in sync, but like Rick said who knows whats going to happen when Girardi inserts A-Roid back in the Lineup. Now it's time to watch Steph Curry and see if the Warriors can go up 2-1 on the Thunder.

Health will be the Yankees' biggest issue as the season
moves along.

It's already been an issue- the injury to Bird has already negatively impacted this team especially with Tex struggling. Yup, wouldn't surprise me if the injury bug bites the Yanks.

...makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

Easy to understand if we realize the Yanks just aren't going to:
A) release Arod
B) bench him for a prolonged period unless he's in a horrible prolonged slump.

Ya never know, he might still have a few more HRs left in him- and Refsnyder will be back, and Hicks wasn't quite thought of as being the savior when the Yanks acquired him.

First season series win over Oakland since 11, now go out and kick some Blue Jay butt!!!!!!!!!

Yanks' first 4 game sweep of the A's since '79 and second time (Cleve '99) the A's have been swept in four at Oakland since moving there in 1968.
It is hard to sweep any team in a 4G series - even a struggling banged up bad team like the A's.
The A's swept 3G from the Yanks back in April.
Also the longest win streak by the Yanks since last June and their first 4G sweep in three years.

Holy Smoke, the thought just crossed my mind,
..... this could eventually be the high point of the season. ugh

Let's save the pom poms for getting north of .500 and a positive run differential. They are still scoring <4runs/game.

Play the skids, bench the kids, the pom poms gone, once again fuck you Cashman, Joe grow a pair.

Come Tuesday your 4 & 5 hitters in the lineup will be batting 193 & 194, I don't see a whole lot of success with that in the heart of the order.

...yeah, over one game it's not as critical but during the course of a season the whole idea is to get your better hitters as many ABs as possible.

Salaries be damned, the bench should be a spot for poor performing ass holes.

The Red Sox offense is just ridiculous right now. We will see what happens with them once that slows down.

I think the Redsox' offense is for real- they may not sustain current pace but they'll continue to be one of the best offenses...not earth shattering news. Achilles heel -jmo-will be their SP. If they DO get fairly good SP, they're gonna be very tough.

Betts, Bradley, Bogarts, Shaw, all young players being given a chance.

^^^would not be surprised to see Betts win the MVP sooner or later.

Bogaerts - 17 yr old free agent, they knew what they had and credit their minor league instructors, ect.
Bradley - 1st rounder, 40th pick
Betts and Shaw are interesting, both from '11 draft- Betts 5th rounder was drafted as a SS and also played 2b.
After making 54 errors in 324 G (SS,2b/rookie league, A+) they converted Betts to an outfielder as late as 2014.
The kid is an exciting player, great athleticism.
Travis Shaw, like Bird, was a 9th rounder 2011 draft.
Shaw last year- .270/.813, 226 AB can play 3b and 1b.
He's off to a great start this year .305/.904.....too early to tell but he may be a better hitter for average and contact than Bird- but Bird showed more power (last year).
