That’s just it. NOBODY streams stuff. We hear on the internet do. That’s it. The percentage of the population who actually steam shit is very small.

I would think the number of people who steam shit would be somewhere near zero.

I’m 70 and I stream the Blazers on League Pass. Pisses me off that that option isn’t available to anyone anywhere who’s willing to pay for a subscription. I know the cable companies would collapse overnight, but that’s inevitable anyway.

Ok, maybe we have different definitions. I consider any internet derived media content on a TV streaming. Basically anything that is not broadcast/cableTV/satellite/physical medium/DVD/Bluray..... Everything else I considered streaming. So Netflix/Disney/etc is all streaming.

ahh that makes sense. I just never thought of it that way because i suppose we stream everything then. But in my head i still differentiated you tube and internet websites from netflix and the like.

Oh, I was talking about live streaming sporting events. Our generation does it, and our kids, but that’s like 1/4 of the people out there, if that.

Were not seeing it like they are. But anytime you aren't watching comcast tv, you are streaming, it seems like.

Honestly, towards the end of the season, I appreciated seeing one of Sharpe's dunk in 4 different angles instead of watching the Blazers getting blown out.
oh, you mean the games half the fanbase couldn't watch? Well isn't that just frickin' special.

Correct me if im wrong, but i always thought of streaming as live streaming direct on the net.
Not saved files, much the same as reruns on tv? Ive never thought of Netflix or Disney as streaming, because its a catalog of files to access. Not something im tuning in to stream live?

Streaming
Definition
The technology of transmitting audio and video files in a continuous flow over a wired or wireless internet connection.

What is streaming? Streaming refers to any media content – live or recorded – delivered to computers and mobile devices via the internet and played back in real time. Podcasts, webcasts, movies, TV shows and music videos are common forms of streaming content.

I always hate when the ball is inbounds and we're watching something other than the game. Player smiling, coach or guy on the bench, fans, replay, etc. Now in 1994 it was fine, teams grinded it out slow and would take 10 second every play to start action. Now you have teams scoring 140 points and pushing the ball relentlessly. If the game is going on, I want to watch the freaking game.
Doesn’t it seem like we miss most every instance where the offense is starting their possession after a made basket, and the other team steals the ball on the inbounds pass and scores?
The broadcast absolutely has to show the guy who just scored running up the floor instead. Why, I don’t fucking know. I guess people want to see him raise 3 fingers or whatever some players do.
I just saw this on the Laker game with Russell making a three, and then they have to do a closeup of his reaction. The next time we see the ball it’s crossing mid-court.

My 76 year old dad streams stuff and most all of my friends do for majority of their TV so I'd say no to this.

There might be a large group of people who don't stream and only watch broadcast though, and yeah those are probably the type of people who dial up a TV channel to complain. But streaming is not very small today at all.
Live sports?

Is this true? I stream 95+% off my content. Same goes for the household, in fact.
People under 50 stream the shit out of stuff. Nobody else. I’ve been in in these meeting and zooms where they break it down. Not as many people steam LIVE content as you think.

More people can watch the games in ROOT than Comcast/NBCSports whatever it was called. It’s a fact. A TON more actually. We already went thru this, go find that thread for the facts.

But that’s not Blazers broadcasting. How can that be? Ohhhhh, it’s how EVERYONE CUTS A FUCKING GAME!?! That’s the standard, not just Blazers broadcasting. People get out there and check other shows, please. Been saying this for years. Spurs show looks like it’s put on by blind monkeys….. and those are my friends. Orlando looks like they have HS kids in the studio.

Shit watch our “world feed broadcast” at the Olympics…. We miss plays all the time for super slo mo emotion shots of fans and players…. And that shit is sent around the globe. Broaden your viewership…. You’ll learn a thing or two maybe.

That is beyond fascinating. I just assumed they'd kept pace...

Change the standard. Be a trendsetter.

Seems to me streaming is likey a geographical answer. I bet most people in metro areas who have access to quality cable dont stream as much as though outside of cable viewership.

The only other option is a dish or to stream. I didn't want a dish on my house so we stream. Im willing to bet more and more folks outside of the cable tree, streams their programs.

Personally, I cant imagine steaming shit. Just the thought is making me queazy. Thats some seriously disgusting thoughts you just implanted in my head!!!

was the change over to Root Sports Plus in that thread? I guarantee that axed many outlying fans that don't have Comcast from watching the exciting debut of Chance Comanche.

my hope is the Blazers don't make RS2 a permanent thing, or at least give Spectrum and other affiliates that new channel. I can't properly complain about bad coaching and terrible defense unless I actually watch the Blazers.

U.S. bankruptcy judge blocks Phoenix Suns' new TV deal

NEW YORK -- A U.S. bankruptcy judge on Wednesday blocked the NBA's Phoenix Suns from moving ahead with a television and streaming rights deal for its basketball games, saying the team violated the rights of its current broadcast partner, the bankrupt Diamond Sports Group.

The Phoenix Suns last month announced they would broadcast future games to television and online streaming through a partnership with Gray Television Inc GTN.N and video technology startup Kiswe.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez, however, ruled that the company could not yet move on from its existing contract with Diamond Sports Group, a bankrupt subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group SBGI.O that broadcasts games through its Bally Sports TV channels.

U.S. bankruptcy law protects debtors from having their contracts modified or terminated without their consent, and Lopez ruled that the Suns' new TV deal was void because it interfered with the Diamond Sports' contractual right to negotiate contract extension.

Lopez did not award Diamond Sports monetary damages on Wednesday, but said that he would consider a request for damages at a later hearing.

The Suns' attorneys argued that its TV deal with Diamond expired with the end of the 2022-2023 regular season, and that the new deal would not interfere with Diamond's rights under its existing contract.

Lopez was not persuaded, saying that the Suns' "media blitz" touted the new contract as a done deal despite "one line in the press release" about the Diamond Sports bankruptcy.

"The Suns are saying one thing outside the court and another thing inside it," Lopez said.

A spokesperson for the Suns did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Financial terms of the Phoenix Suns' contracts with Diamond Sports and with Gray TV were kept sealed in bankruptcy court.

Diamond televises games for nearly half of all teams in the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball (MLB), and the National Hockey League.

Diamond filed for Chapter 11 protection in March with a proposal to cut $8 billion in debt.

You're just not trying hard enough.

Seems like a good thread to drop this in. ESPN is making plans to launch a subscription-based streaming platform for their main channel that up until now has been limited to cable or other TV streaming services. The wall is cracking. Only a matter of time before we can stream whatever sports we want to subscribe to. No timeline yet on when this happens.

By making their games available on local Arizona television stations and the Kiswe streaming platform, they are increasing their potential viewership from 800,000 to over 2.8 million households. This move reflects the changing dynamics of media consumption, with more fans looking for flexible and affordable ways to watch their favorite teams.
For those interested in accessing these broadcasts on streaming platforms, you can check out the guide on how to download so player on firestick. This should help you enjoy the games on your preferred device.
Overall, this transition signifies a progressive approach by the Suns and Mercury to reach a broader audience and adapt to the evolving media landscape.

I live pissing distance from the Portland market/Eugene market boundary. Which means I can't get local Portland channels with cable or with satellite. I'd be completely screwed unless the games are on an available cable channel, or the Blazers offer a streaming service.
League pass really shouldn’t be blacked out for anyone who has no possible way to access local market coverage. Doesn’t matter if you are in state or not. I feel for you bro.

Jody and Dewayne do not give a fuck about what fans want

They give as much about the fans as the Root Sports does, Dish does, Direct does, YoutubeTV does, Fubo, etc.

They got their money, and know there's jack shit you can do about it. It's why CSN was never ever seriously going to be on Dish (I think it was Dish?) and why Root will never be on youtubeTV (which I have).
