The deeper question is why our society produces so many psychos.

This should be the first question after every attack. But it never is.
I am all for banning assault rifles, but if a psycho wants to kill lots of people, pipe bombs are very easy to make and conceal.

The fixation on AR15s is silly. There are magazine fed semi-auto firearms in all forms. So the laws attempt to draw the line and magazine capacity. Ok so the person might have to reload more. But it takes a second to reload a glock. There are speed loaders for revolvers. If you take a standard capacity shotgun and spray 00 Buck into a crowd, that's 45 projectiles in a single load, which is greater than most AR-15 magazines. So where are we ever going to stop if we keep going down this path? Back to muzzle loaders? That's why people are resistant to these laws.

And you you can inflict just as many casualties in a mass knifing attack. Just google mass stabbing...

Did what I had to do. I think I've told the story before here. I was walking home from work one night and saw a weirdo messing with a woman at a bus stop. She did not want his advances. He was touching her and kept talking to her. She kept telling him to leave her alone. I stepped in and told him to leave her alone and get the fuck out of there. He told me to mind my own business. I repeated to him to kick rocks. He pulled a knife and came at me. We tussled. I got stabbed in the shoulder. I got really angry then and told him he better run and he did. Waited at the bus stop till the woman's bus came, then went home.

If he had a gun it might have been a different story. I might not be here. I'll take a knife over a gun any day.

Make it mandatory to register all firearms. Renew the weapon license every 4 years. When you transfer the firearm, you have to report the transaction within...2 weeks... If you have a firearm "stolen" more than twice you lose the ability to purchase firearms for three years

Depends. A knife in a truly packed area is completely quiet. You could inflict a lot of damage in a very short amount of time before people really caught on to what was happening.

The weird thing is, if you watch the videos from the Chiefs parade, half the people aren't even reacting to what's happening. So imagine without the gun shots? A knife could actually be extremely lethal in that situation.
