...not at all a fan of Lady Gaga but regardless of her views, she's an American citizen and is afforded the very same 1st Amendment Rights as the rest of us. And no one is forced to watch the SB or the halftime show, that what the remote control thingy is for.

...now, as far as the game itself, being a Raiders fan, I don't have a dog in that fight but if I had to pick a winner it would be the Pats. They are always well coached and well prepared for every opponent they face each week. I know there are many people who hate them but it's hard to deny their perennial success and their system.

...on the other hand, the Pats' have not exactly dominated in the SB...in fact, their 4 wins have come by a margin of 3,3,4, and 3 points...and if not for that bogus "tuck rule" call vs the Raiders in 2001, the Patriots and Brady may never have evolved into what they are. (Remember that Bledsoe was still the starting QB on the depth chart and Brady was the backup) (a still injured Bledsoe replaced Brady in the AFC championship game and led them to the win)...the Pats were promptly listed as a whopping 14 point under dog to the Rams, but ended up winning by 3.

...Atlanta has been very good all year and their offense, especially their passing game, may well be the best in the NFL, but their running game is very solid too and their defense has gotten much better as the year has gone on. And since Atlanta has only one pro sports championship (1995 Braves) I'd love to see them win the game.

...My head says the Pats in a nail biter, my heart says Falcons in a blowout.

> We lost to your Raiders this season and deserved it. Of all the teams that want a NE loss it is the Ravens fan base. 2011 and 2014 still churn my guts. Yeah Lady Gaga is different. My wife said she has a talent.

^^^yeah, the Raiders won vs the Ravens in a squeaker and were very fortunate to get out of Baltimore with a win.

...for me, Lady Gaga is yet another in a long line of entertainers who are more of a product of marketing than pure talent...if she were performing right down the street from me, I doubt I'd go to her concert...but to each his own, different strokes for different folks...just not my cup of tea.

Personally, I do not give a flying shit what Lady Gaga wears, and for that matter, what she sings..........
It's about THE Game. Do not want to see the Falcons tossed into a pile of Cheater shit. It just leaves a bad taste.
Just want the Falcons of Atlanta to put up more points than the Pats. I can only hope the Falcons prove me right!

...two more SB thoughts,

1. I would not be surprised if one of the QBs goes down with an injury.

2. I would not be surprised that if the Pats win, Brady retires.

http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/not-many-exceptions-to-free-speech-guarantee/

Yes she is protected from the govt suppressing her speech, but that right does not mean she can say/do anything she wants, anywhere she wants.

This is why the NFL could easily make a rule stating code of conduct is to respectfully stand for the anthem, for example.

...the NFL has already OK'ed her performance and therefore has made a statement...and that statement is that "Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression are "inalienable rights". Did the NFL sanction/fine/censor Caepernick for his actions or words?...no...Maybe your issue should be with the NFL instead.

...also, I have no idea of what the relevancy of your link is or how it directly applies in this case to Lady Gaga.

...exactly what has she done or said or sang that is slanderous or treasonous?...and other than perhaps disagreeing with your views, what exactly has she done that is so horrible? If she incites a riot, well, then in that case she will be guilty of a crime...if she slanders someone, well, she will likely be sued...but she has done none of that and like I said, if it truly causes you this much angst or is such a source of discomfort for you, don't watch the f'n half-time show...I won't be, but for completely different reasons, I'm simply not a fan of her music.

^^^ great stuff 59,...
One reason I have such disdain for the Patsies, is the Bledsoe affair you mentioned; and eventually allowing Marsha's older brother the starting job. I've long been pissed off at Parcells, Belichick, Brady, Kraft and every person in the state of Mass., for letting Drew go to Buffalo like he was excess baggage. Loved Bledsoe at Wazoo St, knowing the NFL was gonna' get a helluva sniper... one I admired much more so than Tom, Marsha's oldest brother...

My head also say's Patsies in a close one, a FG difference, but my heart says Falcons in a slaughter, with Julio Jones as SB MVP- from crimson to scarlet roll tide roll

regardless of my disdain for the Patsies, I can give Belichick his due, just can't stomach Marsha's bro-. You could torture me with Viet-Cong tactics, and I'll never admit Tom is a decent QB....bamboo shivs up the fingernails, high voltage battery cables clamped to sweaty balls, it won't work, I'll die first, give me no brady or turn up the juice....

Yes because your libtard infected brain doesn't understand the constitution, nor does the NFL apparently. Go ahead and light another doobie, tomorrow is another day.

..lol...^^^now you resort to insults instead of providing something tangible to support your stance....like I've been saying, "very compelling argument". That's OK, I know that's all you have. And now, according to you, Lady Gaga, the NFL, and the Fox network are all complicit in a conspiracy to somehow use some sort of "Vulcan mind meld" in order force you to watch a halftime show that hasn't even aired yet?

...I also noticed that you conveniently sidestepped the questions I posed to you in my previous post...but that's OK too, I understand.

...but by all means, please enlighten me with your extensive constitutional knowledge and explain in detail (with actual facts for a change instead of your opinion) exactly what it is that you think I am missing and how it is unlawful for someone to make a political statement only because it differs from yours.

...Again, I'm not sure what your problem is lately but whatever it is, it should not be directed at me.

Lady Gaga is in it for the money. Ya think? The Black eyed peas in the SB sucked too. You would think that the NFL, a huge billion dollar enterprise would hire legit bands like the Stones, Doobies, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Steve Miller and so forth. Oh shit...giving my age away.

...yeah, like I said, I'm not at all a fan of hers and wouldn't recognize one of her songs if I heard it. But IMO, it would be kinda foolish on my part if I knew in advance that she was booked to do the 1/2 time SB Show and also knowing in advance that she was likely to exhibit her political views as a sideshow to that performance, and willfully proceed to subject myself to the very thing that I despise...I'll either change the channel or find something else to do till the 2nd half starts.

At half time I wolf beer down the throat

Ok guys I just want to know where you will be watching, anybody going to a party, and what will be your snack menu for the evening. I haven't decided mine yet but Pizza Rolls, Wine and Beer is on ours. Go Falcons!!!

Going to friends. They are doing the snacks. I get a reprieve this year. Nobody at this party is
a Cheaters' fan!

Ok this is the agenda: Pizza Rolls, Mozzarella sticks, Chicken Wings and assorted Cheese and Crackers. Enjoy the Game everybody, I want to check out the Commercials although I heard they suck. All I care about is the Cheaters losing. See ya tomorrow night for the grand finale. :bgrin:

Ok guys-
1- I just want to know where you will be watching, anybody
2- going to a party, and
3- what will be your snack menu for the evening. I haven't decided mine yet but Pizza Rolls, Wine and Beer is on ours. Go Falcons!!!

1- la maison, ie mi casa
2- I am the party,:solodance: :voguedance: :smiley-happysmoke: :abeer::moresleep:
and- the Álpha Άλφα and the Omega Ωμέγα Ω ω, too...:smiley-sun:

3- I've never ate a 'snack-menu' before, are they good? Where do I get those, or how do I make them? What flavors do they come in? I've never had a mozzarella stick either, I bet they're high in fiber, crunchy too; but what flavors are there, hickory?? Maple?? Oak?? Cypress, Magnolia?? Elm? Mimosa?

it's gonna' be:

  • Cheezit Grooves and Irish White Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Blood Orange Jello, homeade
  • Sierra NV IPA
  • Coca-Cola
  • Choc Molton Cake ala mode (see video recipe below)
  • Alfredo Chicken Bacon Baked French Loaf Sandwich ("---------")

my Son was gonna' make his homeade hand-tossed pizza, our SB Tradition; which beats any we can buy. We saw this sandwich the other day, and decided to go with it, instead of Pizza. The video is below, looking forward to trying it.

There will be no Boston Baked Beans or Clam Chowdah served, only Tea and concrete boots for anyone whose a Patsies Fan, ie whoever may have the nerve to might stop by, who may be a Patsies fan, tho' none are ever allowed, and I know none, just in case tho'...

If the Pats win, I may be eating Crow, a relative of the Falcon.? not really.

Chocolate Pudding cake
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar, divided
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa (we use Dutch processed cocoa)
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, 1 cup of the brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined. If there are lumps of brown sugar, use your hands to break them up. Stir in chocolate chips and set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate together over medium-low heat.
  4. In a separate small saucepan, heat buttermilk over low heat until barely warmed. You don’t want it to bubble or boil. Remove from heat.
  5. Remove chocolate and butter mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla. Pour mixture over dry ingredients. Add the buttermilk and stir until combined. Spread into the prepared pan.
  6. Combine the remaining 1 1/4 cups brown sugar with the cocoa in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth, using your hands to break up any brown sugar clumps. Sprinkle mixture evenly over the chocolate cake batter.
  7. Pour the boiling water evenly over the cake. Yes, it will look like a mess, but I promise it will turn out!
  8. Carefully transfer the pan to the oven. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is firm to the touch.
  9. Remove cake from oven and cool on a cooling rack for at least 30 minutes before serving. To serve, invert each serving on a plate so that the fudge sauce on the bottom becomes a topping. Spoon any extra sauce in the pan over the top. You can serve the cake at room temperature or warm. Top with ice cream, if desired.
these look pretty good also, worth trying one day. I'd definitely deviate a few things with this recipe tho'...

...I have not had a good IPA in almost a year...can't get it around here.

...I have not had a good IPA in almost a year...can't get it around here.

Wow, stunning. Seem's like the IPA's are invading this area, and have been. I was looking at beer's last night at the supermarket and counted 21 different brands of IPA's....

reminds me of the time I got to Atlanta in 74, and every soul who I met from Georgia Tech, all asked me the same question upon meeting them: "How many cases of Coors did you bring"??? I had no idea back then Coors wasn't available in the South, otherwise I'd of rented a U-Haul, or rented a train car to ship it, could of made a nice sideline living selling black market Coors....lol.

I'll swap you 2 six packs of IPA, for a Case of Cheeto's...

...SB score prediction?

Current temperature in Atlanta 35 Current temperature in Boston/Foxboro 26

...my Brother tuned me on to IPA beer 3-4 years ago...can't remember what brand it was but it had a slight aftertaste that tasted just like grapefruit.

...you've got a deal on the IPA for Chee-tos swap...but which do you prefer, Puffed or Crunchy ? :bgrin:

Come on now Ron, It has to be Crunchy. I don't know anyone who likes the Puffed, and by the way Cheetos are also on the Menu tonight as they are every night.

...oh, I agree 100 % ...can't remember the last bag of puffed Cheetos I've bought...if they are free sitting on a snack table somewhere, yeah, I'll eat the puffed one...but spend good money on them?...no way.

...also, maybe it's just me but it seems that the crunchy also have more of that orange cheesy stuff that coats your finger tips after eating them, and then licking your cheesy fingers afterwards is half the fun and half the flavor.

Heading to some friends for their SB party. I hope for a good game and some clever commercials. I couldn't care less about the half time shows. It's a good time to snack and chat with people at the party.

...alright Atlanta, you're up 14-0...keep your foot on their neck.
