Surround sound issues with Comcast?

It's not just on surround sound. My upstairs TV has had the same obnoxious screeching noise coming out of the built-in speakers the last couple games. It was so bad, I had to turn the volume all the way down and turn on the close captioning.

Fuck Comcast. This is what happens when you let someone establish a monopoly - an inferior product at a premium price.

Yep, the sound quality is awful.

Cedar Hills and Cornell Rd area

I don't know whats worse, you typing what you did assuming I know where the hell that is or me NOT knowing where the hell that is.

you guys on the east or west side?

It's northwest of the Hwy 26 (Sunset Hwy), 217 intersection. It's an historic area named for a lumber mill that used to be there back when the area was still forested. I only know this because my kids went to elementary school in the area and the local Quicky Lube (or whatever it's called) near Cornell and Saltzman had old black and white photos of the mill and forest before it became overrun by urban sprawl.

Not sure if it's relevant as it sounds like the sound quality is universally shitty, but I currently live near PCC Rock Creek and have Frontier FIOS service.

It's part of Beaverton.

Yeah you're right. It's right next to Beaverton though.

Yeah, I know. The boundaries are weird. Probably due to annexation wars back in the 50s and 60s as Beaverton and Portland looked to expand their tax bases. I've lived in the same area for the last 27 years. My first two addresses were Beaverton, but I could literally throw a rock in 3 directions (N, E, W) and hit Portland. 2 years ago, I moved a mile west and now have a Portland address for the first time. Go figure.

TV has been digital for a while. The audio would be digitized somewhere along the way, likely long before it gets to Comcast. It seems like it wouldn't just be Comcast that has messed up audio.

Its not just comcast as ive just switched to Frontier (which btw, is soooo much better than comcast and costs me 30 bucks less per month)

SO a big FU to comcast

I live so close to 'boobs', I could reach out and touch him.

Well, that's not at all awkward.

And, you need to at least buy me dinner before there will be any touching! I may be easy, but I'm not cheap.

The sound seems extra bad tonight on my surround sound system. Loud high pitch hissing sound.

I'm getting really bad screeching during tonights game. Only on Comcast any other channel goes away. Sucks I have to watch either muted or not at all. Started giving me a headache.

Even in stereo it's awful and you're right it even worse than normal. Sounds like a Dalek invasion... Like a ring modulator is being used.

No monopoly. Same issues, so it doesn't seem to be comcast's fault.

Frontier gets their channel from Comcast so...

Denny, Comcast is the only provider of this channel therefore it is a monopoly.
