This must have been six or seven years ago. I don't even remember the dean's name, let alone the head of the mechanical engineering and certainly no one from the robotics lab. I remember that they touted their lab and I was impressed and I'm not easily impressed. Yeah, I think the guy who gave us the technical details was a PhD candidate and obviously knew his stuff.Most Robotics is written in C/C++, I was under the impression Boston dynamics had the first walking robot, but it doesn't surprise me that OSU did, they have a bunch of very gifted people doing Ph.D. work there. Were you with Bill Smart? He's a great dude. I've interacted with him a few times, my boss is usually the contact when I have questions though.
By the way, the headless robot was interfaced to the controller by a wiring harness.
I believe by the time of our tour the OSU robot was joined by about two or three other robots that could also walk but ours was the first.
