best place to find a new job is at Barnes and Noble in the business section or starbucks. Just sit down or walk around aimlessly, sooner or later, you will be approached by someone with a "job opportunity" in solar energy, videophones, or health supplements...all it takes is an "interview dinner" at their supervisor's house.....

Reading the letter I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not. If it's real, glad to hear it. Still looking here, but have a few interesting prospects. Hope to get hooked up with a federal career internship. That'd be ideal in my opinion.

Let's just say I won't be calling or e-mailing them back. ;)

yeah, isn't this some kind of scam? I used to get these all the time when my resume was on Monster.....ends up being MLM.

I said, I'd call back. Me being 17, and only supporting myself. So for me, 120K is a fuck load. For a guy with a wife, no. But for a 17 year old trying to smoke weed, drink, get laid and buy himself a car, 120K is good enough for me.

yeah, if you want to only drive AMERICAN cars.

I guess. :sigh:

I can buy a nice used BMW here in Toronto. 18,000 plus my insurance, I'll be good.

Yea, but cash rules everything around me. All I want in life is money. I'm going to major in business so I can like a high risk-high reward life style with my sexy hispanic super model wife, with her perfect tits and big lips who drives around in an Aston Martin to a huge tower that I own. Inside that tower I run the biggest Casino in the world, and the biggest bookie service avaliable. I make millions in the stock market and my house is 100,000 square feet in the hills of Las Vegas.

you need to stop smoking weed, drinking and chasing tail then. you'll need to be a bit of a sociopath to achieve that lifestyle, no joke.

Duck, man! Here comes reality! BOOF!!!

OK, feel better now?

Why am I crazy? I want to own a casino, maybe the biggest in the world is not goona happen, but I could manage one. Okay, so I want to manage a big name casino. Happy.

That's been a dream of mine too. Its interesting to me...but alas, has not happened.....yet. Get sidetracked...to be on that level, you have to be focused like a laser. Or inherit it all.

Even getting into the hotel management side is good, but its a lot of sucking up and all about your connections. Some of those fools do well though...the concierges and managers, etc.

Well, I'm going to look in to starting an online casino website, focused more on Poker and Blackjack. I know I could be stretching, but that's the kind of life I want man. Life fast in Vegas where the action is. Hey man, if I'm starting up an online casino, I could always use someone to do it with me. If you're up to it, we could look in to it more and try it. If not, that's fine, I'll do it myself and see what comes out of it.

I would shoot myself before living in Vegas. I can only stand it for 3 or 4 days max, then it gets boring and shitty. I go there a LOT too (10-12 times per year) and have lived the fast and baller life there (at least on the weekends) and actually have a pretty decent contact base there....

Its not as it seems, most of the time its pasty mid-westerners and retirees despite what you see on TV.

And I believe that there were a lot of regulations on online casinos in the US...even ones based in other countries are not allowed here.

and general "business" isn't the best way to break in to vegas casino life. hotel management programs, but even with a degree you're going to start off at the front desk checking fanny pack wearin' midwesterners in. unless you can be ruthless and cut through and work your ass off.

I know I need to focus more on manager type majors in college. I'm just throwing out ideas, there is a lot for me to learn lol. I just want to do this, and I'm going to follow through with it.

go for it. i know a lot about vegas...used to be more into it....but if its what you wanna do, go for it. have you been there? right now its like a ghost town.

I wouldn't recommend a Business degree. I have an Business degree with double concentrations in MIS and Management from the Honors College at Oregon State University, and I've yet to had much luck in the job search. Getting an MBA is much more valuable, and good MBA programs like to have students of differing backgrounds such as Engineering. I would have taken more math if I could do it again.

I think you mentioned something about starting up an Online Casio...in that case you may want to think about Computer Science. Although since online gambling is illegal if you run one of those you won't be able to set foot in the United States again.

As long as you know what you want to do and work hard, that's what matters. I'm interested by a lot of things (FastCompany feels me), but don't have that strong passion. I'll admit my work ethic has dropped from where it was when I was in high school. But maybe that's because I don't have a good sense of direction.

If you have a different degree, you can still get into business pretty easily. It doesn't work the other way around. Right now, with my business degree, I'm applying for government jobs that are labeled "Economist", "General Engineer" and "Mathematician". Let's hope my math skills are still sharp.
