I think the bg and the brushing behind T.I. looks okay, but Im not feeling the text. See your Josh Smith sig's text looks good.

BG is ugly, and the secondary text is bad too. Also the bg colours are uneven on both sides.

Not liking the text at all, try duplicating T.I, then give the duplicated layer a gaussion blur then change the settings of the duplicated layer to Overlay and the opacity to 80% or so! See what the outcome is, I can tell you now it'll look better than it does now!

Does anyone know where I can get some good grunge brushes? And if anyone has a tutorial to make a good bg please let me know because I agree with everyone here that i pretty much suck at the bg.

Your Josh Smith is sig is much better imo. The effects on the text dont amaze me, neither do the effects in the bground. You also need a better border.
