T-wolves get #5 pick

Wojnarowski is kicking ass.. he and Yahoo are blowing ESPN out of the water with the trade news.

If that's all it took to get the #5 pick, I refuse to believe that we can't get a decent pick for a song.

Ricky Rubio is a lock to land in Minnesota.

Memphis could end up with Tyreke Evans and Jordan Hill. Not a bad draft day at all.

I'm gonna laugh when Rubio doesn't drop to 5th. We should trump them again and trade for the 4th pick.

T-wolves overpaid in a weak draft. I guess the blame for their troubles can't be put on Kevin McHale anymore.

wow, helluva deal for Minny..Foye was never clutch and Mike Miller is the epitome of "meh"
Now trade Love for #2
Rubio,Harden, Hill

:vmad:

Is this for real?? The #5 pick for a guy who is always injured, and a past-his-prime, one dimensional shooter. Granted, the other players involved are mostly salary cap ballast...but the T'Wolves have bigger problems than accumulating cap space!

Unless they blow the pick utterly, this will be a great deal for them.

This also means we can forget about Butler/Jamison too, since Thomas and Songaila were the contracts they wnated to dump. Whoa. First the Rjeff news, then this. Not looking good so far.

Lots of deals being made, I'm wondering what KP is doing right now.

The Wiz must've really coveted getting rid of their bad contracts in place of getting a Curry or Rubio. I wonder how much KP was in the discussions with Washington.

Dang, until this happened I really thought Washington was our best trade partner. Too bad, any combo of #5, Arenas, Butler, or Jamison would have looked pretty good in scarlet and black...

There is no mention of the 6th pick, so I assume that means Minnesota now has both the 5th and 6th picks. I wonder if they will move either, or perhaps package both picks to move up even further. It might actually make sense for a team like Memphis to do a two for one swap. Rubio doesn't want to go to Memphis. So, Memphis could trade their 2nd pick and end up getting two players instead of one. Of course, their cheap owner probably doesn't want two more guaranteed contracts. So, who knows?

"We tried to move up as much as we could," Pritchard said. "But the deal just wasn't right. We're going to war with the guys we have."

get out of my head! :ohno:

If they intend to swap #5 and #6 for #2, then we can forget about Rubio too.

David Kahn though was quoted as saying he wants more than 1 pick, so maybe they don't want to move up.

its still a lot of talent to give up for a gamble in the draft.
Foye and Miller is a lot of talent?
They already proved they couldn't get anything done with those two in the lineup, plus they were already taking a pg with #6, making Foye irrelevant in the future.

I have to disagree. Worst case scenario, they wind up with Flynn or Evans and break even. If Harden or Rubio slip, they win.

I would have thought Miller is a pretty decent Talent, as is Foye. To trade that for a draft pick in a draft full of role players.....not too encouraging.

It's not. Foye was slightly better than Sergio last season, while Miller was worse than Outlaw at twice the price. Tell me how either of those players fit in on a rebuilding team?

Oh well, I don't think KP is sold on this draft, so I'm still waiting till free agency to see if we make a splash.

Since when is 16/4/3 slightly better than Sergio? Yeah, he didn't shoot too well, but you're talking out of your ass.
