Take pity on Dame and trade him

I can’t help but notice the total silence on Dame’s part so far. I’m assuming that he was briefed on the vision behind Cronin’s and Chauncey’s plan. I think he’s agreed to give them the summer. If he doesn’t like what he sees by camp, I think a trade request is certain.
dame said he would take a break from social media three weeks ago after surgery to get a mental break from it all. The only stuff his account has posted since have been about his endorsement stuff and that's all probably pre-planned.

I wonder if Morey has given Cronin a call or if he's all-in on Harden now.

Even assuming we free up the $$, we have filled 7 roster spots for next season with these trades. Even if Bledsoe is released and Hart contributes, that is still 1/3 of the roster that is (at best) no better than the flotsam to be signed on 1 year vet minimums. How many roster spots will actually be available for this retooling around Dame plan!

I totally get not wanting to move Dame, but what are the realistic chances of being able to build a contender around him from scratch?

DO IT!!!!

Remember how we bitched and moaned for years about the Dame-CJ pairing.

But now we're keeping Dame so he can be paired with... Anfernee. So once again, our two best players are basically the same player. Add to that, Anfernee is best with the ball in his hands and is FINALLY learning to be a PG. Are we going to give him huge money and then tell him to go play off the ball?

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE TRADE DAME.

LOL...first you wanted to trade Dame and keep CJ. Now you want to trade Dame and build around Simons. At least you're consistent

by the way, you might want to take a look at Ant's numbers over the last 10 games. He's had 19 in a row as a starter. The first 9 he looked like a 30M/year rookie extension as a lead guard. The last 10 he's looked like a 15M/year rookie extension as a backup guard; which is kind of what he's looked like in 180-190 of his 203 games.

I think it could be the case that people got a little carried away with what Ant did in those 9 games just like they got carried away with what CJ did in the first 12 games of last season. Hot streaks are a terrible way to gauge a player's value, especially when you try and draw an equation between that hot streak and Dame's body of work

Remember, I only wanted to keep CJ as long as it took for him to bolster his trade value playing without Dame. That's before his shitty playing-without-Dame time this season.

So you're saying that basically our best player other than Dame isn't all that. Hmm. Maybe we should trade Dame away from this shitty roster and stop trying to pretend we can build a contender around him?

LOL.

I will honestly be shocked if we can put a contender around Dame in the next year or so.

I'm starting to wonder if Dame is on the block but he's playing the part so we can get good value and he can get a trade to a team with a legit shot at a title.

I mean don’t get me wrong I respect the man a lot. He’s a quality asset. Has made countless great contributions. He knows the game well.

But he also thought Kostas Papanikolau was our player of the future.

Now he’s saying trade Dame and you better believe I’ll remember this thread when we don’t trade Dame and play much better with a new core built around our SUPERSTAR AND GREATEST BASKETBALL PLAYER THE PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS HAVE EVER DRAFTED.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!?!?

We won’t draft another Damian Lillard by trading Damian Lillard. Nikolai Greekapopolopolopulus Alexander isn’t the next Damian Lillard.

You are drunk!!!

I just don't see how a (young) superstar comes to Portland unless it's by trading Dame. Odds are not in Portland's favor to land a hot free agent. It's possible but not likely by all accounts.

At Dame's age he may have to face reality that he's no spring chicken, plus he's coming off surgery. He has to have a second superstar/all-star to win it all (or even come close) and I don't think that happens in Portland on his rather limited time frame.

Still not saying I want to see him leave...

been discussed in another thread

it's from the ultimate blazer no-source shit-stirrer...Henry Abbot

if this is true, henry abbott will be gloating like no-one ever hahaha
