yeah, you buy one next thing you know you're livin' in the burbs.

Pretty sure I'm going to lease a minivan -- I've always thought leases were less than smart, but we think we'll only need it for a couple years. After that, we ditch the massive car seats and the little dudes can crawl to the back of the Highlander. SUVs with third rows work, but you've got to be past the massive car seat phase and we're not.

One thing I never would have guessed, there is MASSIVE demand for minivans. A certified used minivan that's 3 years old and has 35k miles is only $1,500 or $2,000 less than a brand new one. Seriously, it's $30k or so for used and $31.5k for new. Makes me think some of you deniers have a minivan in your driveway and aren't admitting it.

If I were you I'd buy a minivan. Its a great all purpose car, especially for long road trips if you plan and leases are always so stupid with mileage. there's no shame in having a minivan. just get the oddesey. shit is mad dope.

No - dealers are just stingy bastards. Those "certified" used autos are so ridiculously overpriced - that whole classification is just a way for the dealers to make more money because you feel warmer and fuzzier buying a certified used auto than just a regular ol' auto.

('til he admits he bought one, then we're going to flip the script and bash him for it! :devilwink:)

Minivans that smell like diapers = hell on earth.

+1. Mexicans.... The Mexicans in my area drive gold cars or crappy trucks that are pimped-out with the mural on the tailgate.

Speaking of which - HCP, what colors are your cars?

It is not a minivan thing, it is a used vehicle (all types) shortage. New car sales crashed hard in 08 & 09, so there are currently few cherry low milage trade ins.

Mobes, if you want to PM me, I know a few New car and GM's in the car business, depending on where you live, that are all good people.

...in a little less than 2 hours, I'm going to look at a minivan. Never thought I'd get to this place, but three kids needing bigass carseats and I can't see any other way to make it work.

Hey, soccer mom, post a pic of your new dream ride.

Between Las Vegas and LA, the bats can get bad around Barstow.

Don't do it!

SUV with a third row seat. If in your budget, the infinity QX56 has a second row captain chairs that make it easy for the 3rd and 4th to get in the back seat. Or if putting the seat down each time bothers you, kids don't mind hoping over the seats. Plus they are great for rodatrips.

I get the convenience and all, but it's a minivan . . . check your Y chromosome at the sliding door as you get in. :)
