Tank 2022

I don't know about the Magic but the Pistons have sat Grant and no matter what anyone says in here he is the player on that team that gives them the best chance to win games, especially against opposing tanking teams.
Jerami Grant hurt his thumb.
He played in 7 of the last 10 games.
And he’s out due to legitimate injury once again. (He left mid game.)

Assumed it was tanking, my bad. Even with Grant playing they were bad enough that they were going to end up in the bottom four and most likely the bottom three. Those teams really do suck. I do wonder if some of the Magic's injured players could have made it back this season to play in some games but the Magic just told them to be safe and get better for next season which some might consider a form of tanking but to me just makes sense once you no longer have meaningful games and you're trying to protect you roster for next season.

How do you mean?

I mean it's a cap that generally acts as a deterrent for small market teams but not for big market teams. And because it's not a hard cap it allows super teams to be formed

I know a hard cap would never happen, but the luxury tax rules should be a lot more severe, and the repeater tax should start in the 2nd year, not the 4th or 5th

Some big names possibly available depending on playoff success

1. Butler- relationship with coach and team had gone south
2. Randle not happy in NY
3. Grant- obviously available
4. Siakam- Toronto stuck in middle of pack
5. Zion- not sure where he stands seems disengaged with team
6. Crucial year for Boston could see them blowing things up if bad playoffs.

Sure theirs more out there but my point is options will open up, Grant may be 2nd or 3rd choice once season ends.

I’m still really concerned we won’t have that second lottery pick which would be devastating

The randle stuff is really interesting. He apparently requested off the team yesterday if you believe the rumors.

I would add Ben Simmons to the list as well. Butler, Siakam and Simmons are the most intriguing.

Butler is the guy who has my interest. Head case but he brings that grit this team has been missing especially on defensive side

I seriously doubt the Nets will trade away Simmons before they've seen what he can do with their roster

I still think they'll see what he can do with them down the very last stretch of the regular season and as much post season as they have.

Depends. They've gotten to know him more than anything. He's owed a lot of money. My preference was that he would play and they would get destroyed in the post-season. That would open the biggest possibility of them moving him. Less so if he doesn't actually play. They might be pissed though that the guy is so fragile mentality and physically that they'd roll the dice on a cheaper alternative with additional assets. IE, Jerami Grant plus picks, guys on rookie deals.

Kings kinged up that third quarter but I still think that they'll end up winning this game unless they sit Mitchell for the fourth quarter which would be some in game tanking which is you really don't see.

This Kings/Rockets debacle makes me feel a little better about the level of basketball our team has been playing.

We ain’t losing that sixth spot. It’s more likely we move up to five imo. We had Blevins playing closing minutes. They ain’t fuckin this tank up lol.

Would love to, but we would have to lose every game, and they would have to win 2 of their final 5, just to get to a coin flip.

@ Boston
DETROIT
PHILADELPHIA
@ Philadelphia
@ Brooklyn

They could/should be Detroit at home, but other than that, it will be tough. Both Boston and Philly are only 1 game out of the #2 spot in the East. Brooklyn needs to win to stay at #8 and not have to win 2 games instead of just 1 in the Play-In.

I think the Blazers come up 1 game short. Damn that 6 out of 8 stretch and then the 4 game winning streak. Lose just half of those, and we are firmly in #5 with a shot at #4.

I don’t think Portland wins another game. The most winnable one is against the thunder but it’s away.

Our tanking is hard core. I’m going to start watching Indiana games. And can’t believe I have to root for lakers. Fuck.

I don't see Indy winning 2 games. Think we're gonna get locked into 6.

Keljin and GB need to play 48 mins in that OKC game so we don't do something stupid.
