The Blazers still have the 2nd worst offense in the league by offensive rating. The 4th worst net rating (which is the difference between offensive and defensive rating).

And we have the worst assist to turnover ratio in the league, the 3rd highest turover ratio

We have the worst TS%, in the league, and it's ugly. We're the only team below 53%. The NBA average is 57.5%.

Our defense is decent, but our offense produces 9 less points per 100 possessions than the NBA average. That pretty much accounts for our negative net rating.

Anyway, I think our 40% winning percentage may be a bit of an abberation. Which is good, because I want a top 4 pick.

Another note with TS%: the league average is 57.5% And all of our high volume shooters are well below that.

Makes Bantons numbers even more impressive.

Ant has been awful this year on offense, he needs to be a much better offensive player since he's a poor defender.

Scoot's the worst offensive player on the team and one of the worst in the NBA. Would be one thing if he was a long 6'9" excellent defender, but that type of player is unplayable as a tiny PG.

Some fans debate if it should be Scoot or Ant as our PG long term - seems very clear the answer is neither.

I think it's within reach if they try a little harder.

Pelicans and 6ers will have stretches they put up some wins. Maybe Raptors to a lesser extent.

Pistons Nets and Bulls could have some losses though - this is where being in the west may help us as all those crappy east teams will give each other wins, while for us probably only the Jazz.

Our next game Friday against Utah is critical for the tanking - gives both them a win and us a loss.

It's crazy how we have one win less than the current 16th pick in the draft;

Great loss for the tank!

Impressive that we could lose by 42 points to an opponent with the 2nd fewest wins in the league, that was on the road, resting their best player.

I think it was a week ago we had the same wins as the 16th pick?

We're two opponent wins from getting to the top4. The East has so many bad teams I think they'll give each other a number of wins.

What happened to Philly? They were supposed to be good.

Embiid has BRoy knees and Paul George isn't much better.

Clippers look smart letting George walk - that contract could be a boat anchor in 4 years.

The East is so weak that I'm extremely confident Philly will at least be a playin team though. Look how fast the Bucks went from the bottom of that conference to a playoff spot.

Last night game was basically the one we had circled as a likely win during a long stretch of the schedule. Looking at our upcoming schedule we very well might be on a 9 game losing streak at Christmas when we then have a Jazz rematch;

So looking at our season stats I noticed we currently have the 3rd lowest point differential in the NBA. Also that our expected record is only 5-18... so appears we had 3 wins that analytically should have been losses based on our point differential. So those who were worried about us eventually getting too many wins which hurts our draft pick might now have some comfort. I'd suspect the Pelicans will get wins and surpass us with a few more healthy players, so we might be able to challenge for the 2nd fewest wins in the league which would assure us the #6 pick at worse and of course as good a top4 chance as any team in the league. #6 might not sound great - but thats an absolute worst case scenario with the 2nd worst record. Based on the standings today we could fall to the 11th pick!

I do say I'm surprised our defense has declined so much. We were middle of the road if not better when playing Minnesota, now its 24th in the league. Our offense went from the worse offense up to 28th. I had really enjoyed watching our defense earlier this season. I guess having Ayton back in the lineup and a lesser extent Ant is just a major problem defensively.

Last time they got blown out at home they won three straight meaningless games. Try not to repeat that shit.

An "Analytical Loss"?
Do you guys just sit and enjoy watching a game? How does a loss become Analytical?

Imagine if Morey lands Flagg. I would figure I guess.

Ah, the Tanker in Chief chimes in. ;)
Unfortunately that's just the situation we're in. That's where we were as soon as Dame demanded the trade.

Tanking is the only way to become competitive in the future for this team.

In addition to the guys we have acquired so far in the tankathon, a few of whom are keepers, there is clearly the need for a true All-Star caliber player. With today’s CBA, probably that guy will have to come through the draft. I think you just underestimate how long it could take to find and develop that player.
