TANK!

He has climbed VERY quickly up the ranks having not been even projected in the 2nd round out of high school and now hanging just at the end of the Lottery. I would expect him to continue to climb to where he might be out of reach unless you were in the top 6....maybe 8.

Obi-Wan can jump out of the gym, attacks the rim relentlessly, has a bit of a handle, rebounds well, shoots it from '3' very well (.458 career) and hands out a couple of assists per game. He would instantly be the most skilled bigger SF the Blazers have had in a while...but going on any type of winning streak will likely take the Blazers out of where I think he could eventually end up in the Draft.

I asked D69 about who the Blazers could draft who could help them. He has been rediculously good on the Draft over the years and immediately brought him up as someone who could benefit the Blazers.

....and imagine the Dan Patrick love we would get as he is a former Dayton Flyer as well, isn't he?
I've been on the Obi train for 3 weeks now.

Check out this guy Obi Toppin from Dayton. He's a 6'8" combo forward with a silky smooth 3 point shot, can score in the post, throws down some monster athletic jams, and has pretty good court vision on passes.

He'll be 22 in March, so much like Brandon Clarke's age last year that will be the only reason he's not considered one of the top prospects in this draft as the season goes on.

I'm just saying I posted almost verbatim what he said about Toppin before he started shooting up draft boards.

Good for you. Well done. Applause. :twothumbs: If you would like, I can ask D69 when he started paying attention and you two can compare notes.

The majority is often wrong. It's why some people make so much money in the markets by being contrarian. The masses are usually late to the party.
Most of the time, they're right.
By your logic, Golden State should tank. Do you think there's even a tiny possibility of that? Do you wonder why the answer is no?

Golden State is definitely tanking right now. It’s obvious.
Yeah, especially after Steph went down it doesn't seem like they're really trying to scrap out wins... Well unless they're playing the Blazers I guess.

mini tank

Once we start playing good teams again it'll be back to this. Which is what we should be doing anyway.

Goes to show just how good dame is.

I'm against tanking.

Tanking is for losers. Literally.

Tanking breeds a culture of failure.

The only way to successfully tank (and it's a gamble), is to move on everyone who was at the organisation during the tanking, and start from scratch with the rewards of your tanking. Anything else, and the stench of failure transfers to the new recruits, and continues the failure.

Incorrect. Another key injury and it’s a foregone conclusion.
The only thing that would cause them to tank is an injury to Dame, and even then CJ may be able to keep them sort of respectable. So yeah if their entire starting lineup is hurt they might tank.

I understand the lets get a good lotto pick but you cant ask players to just not try, GM’s and Coaches maybe, but players want to win and many of them are playing for contract incentives and the next contract and all that.

An injury to Dame, CJ, or Hassan and this team is sunk.

This is exactly why I have a problem with people who think just deciding to tank in the middle of the season is a thing, it's not. Another key injury would force the team to be bad and they'd win less games because they aren't as good. That isn't making a decision to lose games. That's losing games because you aren't good enough to win.

You're arguing that they're not tanking right by acknowledging they need another key injury to do it. Does that make sense to you?

tanking is a losers mentality. I prefer winning mentality.

exactly and why the Warriors aren't tanking. They just don't have much talent compared to what they had last year. Losing Iggy, Durant, Thompson, Curry, Looney (for a period) and Draymond Green (for a period) doesn't leave much talent. I think tlongl is confused as to what tanking means.

IMHO, tanking is for people that tongue punch fart boxes.....
