Taurean Prince? Rumor

I swear, if the clowns managing this team, getting paid for it, and the useless know nothing fans ruin another season for me, I'll terrorize your white asses

Why THE FUCK would we do that?! Are you trying to destroy my team?
How so? I think it's actually a pretty good deal. Lin is a better backup PG than Turner and we shed a year off his salary in the summer. And Price would be our mainstay SF of the future still on a rookie deal.

Hell, we'd be players for the full MLE in the summer as @hoopsjock et al have been pushing.

Ant is the future. We don't need some scrub even the Hawks don't want. And Turner is one of our most important, smartest, most underrated players. I veto this deal

The future what? Simons is like 4 yrs away from even sniffing rotation minutes. The sooner ET is off this team, the better. While ET is a better defender, Lin is better across the board.

I mean I’ll take two, and sample size should be considered, but still interesting.

Prince's advanced stats are abysmal given his usage and shooting percentages. Can't figure out why. Maybe he plays too many minutes without doing anything? Or his team sucks in general and everyone is bad?

He’s probably like Oubre (I say probably because I don’t sit around watching the Hawks.) His flashes are really good but doesn’t have the consistency to justify a serious return in a trade. Plus you gotta pay him next year. Not a big deal for Portland though, since a bunch of their shit contracts will expire.

Wouldn't his extension be for 20-21 as long as we pick up his option and let him go to RFA? His caphold for the summer of 20 is around 10 mil, which is reasonable given our future cap situation.

amazing how quickly people got excited about Prince after the rumor. He's not a needle mover and he won't really change Portland's trajectory. Rearranging the deck chairs, but hey...it's some change so why not

* Anfernee Simons: I have not been impressed, at all, when I've seen him. But I've seen so little I can't gauge much. He's a long way from contributing though and Dame's clock is ticking so I sure wouldn't let Simons be the holdup in a trade that might help Portland. Not sure that any Prince to Portland deal is going to help much though

* Portland's 1st: right now it's the 22nd pick and that's not something that should scuttle any deal from Portland's POV.

I'd do the Turner + 1st (lottery protected) for Lin and Prince...no hesitation at all. I'd do Meyers + 1st for Dedmon and Prince. Portland can simply waive Baldwin if Atlanta doesn't want him...and why would they?

Let him go to RFA when? If he plays under the qualifying offer he would be unrestricted the following summer, no? Pretty sure we’d have to pay him next summer.

I forgot about this guy since his Baylor days. This is his 3rd year in the NBA. From what I can remember he has decent handles and is a pretty good passer.

Here are a few highlights:
On December 12, 2017, Prince scored a career-high 24 points in a 123–114 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.[9] Three days later, he made a career-high five 3-pointers and had 17 points in a 96–94 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.[10] On December 29, 2017, he had a career-high 30 points and 10 rebounds in a 111–98 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Prince matched a career high with five 3-pointers and extended his career-high streak of games with at least one 3-pointer to 17.[11] On February 2, 2018, he set a new career high with 31 points in a 119–110 loss to the Boston Celtics.[12] On March 11, 2018, he set a new career high with 38 points in a 129–122 loss to the Chicago Bulls.[13] Six days later, he had another 38-point effort in a 122–117 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.[14] On April 8, 2018, he made seven of eight 3-pointers to score 33 points in a 112–106 win over the Celtics.[15]

he has one more year after this one left on his rookie deal. Won't be RFA till 2020

Just give Atlanta the same package Dallas gave Philly for Noel. A first that isn’t really a first.

Prince was dealing with an ankle injury (maybe back too?) this season until they finally decided to stop playing him. It could have had some effect on his stats.

Man this ain’t pretty, but I’d still take him.

What we should try to do is our 1st for their 2nd. They upgrade one of their 3 2nd rounders and we move down to get Prince. Right now it would be 22 for 35. I think that's pretty fair.

I think that's the easiest deal. Prince + 35 for our first. Fits into our TPE perfectly. Then waive Swan or Baldwin.

You know what? I'm wondering if there's a reason why those two got sent to the GLeague.

Could be showcasing them. Baldwin has looked pretty good. Swanigan hasn’t, not like Olshey would trade him anyway.

I would like if we did Baldwin, Swanigan, and our 1st for Prince and their 2nd (maybe even one of their lesser 2nds). Then we save our TPE and have an open roster spot to use it with.

Something tells me that there is something to the Lin rumors though and that Olshey will give up a 1st for them to take on a bad contract considering Lin is expiring. I don't see Atlanta being major players this summer in free agency anyway. It's almost too perfect.

No thanks.

.

it would have to be Baldwin as the Swanigan's 2019-20 option has already been exercised

just a straight swap of Prince for a TPE would add 4M in tax. I don't know if the Vulcans would approve that. Atlanta taking back Swanigan or Bladwin would drop the additional tax below 2M. Easier sell in Seattle I imagine.

My ideal perfect trade would be ET, Swanigan, and our 2019 1st (with some protection) for Lin, Prince, and the least favorable of their 3 2nd rounders.

His measurable s are average at best. Nothing stands out in terms of wing span, hand size, or explosiveness. Of course those things don't mean shit if you can play. I like that he is physical enough to play both forward positions and that he can handle the ball for a forward.

Before Prince got injured I believe John Collins wasn't back playing yet. Who the heck would defenses have to worry about on that team? A rookie gunner Trae Young? A 54 year old Vince Carter? Prince's advanced stats could skyrocket on a team like Portland where he's "forgot" about while opposing defenses focus on Dame, CJ, and Nurk. If he slashes he'll get easy buckets from Nurk passes too. As long as the price isn't too steep I think this is a no-brainer.
