I'm so bummed. I always wanted to see them live. Dude was only 50.

"Tearing through the room like an F5 tornado was Taylor Hawkins, my brother from another mother, my best friend, a man for whom I would take a bullet. Upon first meeting, our bond was immediate, and we grew closer with every day, every song, every note that we ever played together. I am not afraid to say that our chance meeting was a kind of love at first sight, igniting a musical "twin flame" that still burns to this day. Together, we have become an unstoppable duo, onstage and off, in pursuit of any and all adventure we can find. We are absolutely meant to be, and I am grateful that we found each other in this lifetime." From Dave's thanks to each of his friends in the last chapter of his book, The Storyteller.

Maybe it was aliens

This is why I have a hard time seeing them continuing to perform.... at least for a while. It's not like they need the money.

Damn, that's one way to go out

Got to see them years ago in Walla Walla of all places, on the tour where Dave broke his leg and was sitting on a throne of guitar necks. They still brought the energy and were everything I could ever ask of a rock band. Still have the set list from that night saved on my phone! Always thought Dave was the heart/brain behind Foo, but Taylor was the soul. You could just see something special coming out of him and the way he played the drums every single night. RIP Taylor!
