Man, I was just looking at the roster and I wonder whether any team has ever had more roster decisions needing to be made than the current Blazers mess:
Brandon Roy: To waive or not to waive...Has been discussed ad nauseum.
Greg Oden: Let him play out the season on the QO, sign him to a new deal, or match (or not match and let him walk) another team's offer?
Gerald Wallace: To trade or not to trade...Has a player option next summer. Is he a long term fit with Batum needing time at the same position? Prior to the deadline may be the best time to get value for him.
Raymond Felton: How does he fit in the long run, or can he even be had after this season if we want him since the Blazers don't have Bird Rights on him and he'll be an unrestricted free agent next year?
Wesley Matthews: Is he good enough to be the starting SG for the team's future?
Nicolas Batum: Offer him an extension before the start of the season or go the Oden route and make a QO and let him be a RFA next summer?
Filling out the roster: Yeah, there are a few questions there.
Seems perfectly logical that this team hasn't made a push to get a GM on board and is leaving these decisions to a neutered Chad Buchanan and the Vulcan suits.
