team salaries and this off-season

Just thinking about this coming off-season and all the bron-chasing teams, there are going to be a lot of teams under the cap. The Blazers won't be one of them, but that does not mean the Blazers don't use their flexibility in some sort of trade. Anyway, I thought we could just ponder how this huge list of under the cap teams is going to spend their money, or if they will at all.

the cap is expected to fall to between $50.4 million and $53.6 million for the 2010-11 season. For the sake of argument, we can think of it as ~ 52mil.

I don't know much about salary cap. Well I just don't want to get into it too much. I used to care until Miles destroyed our cap hopes. Regardless, I suspect Miami will be in some really good shape. They could land LJ or Bosh and dominate the East. Could you imagine Wade, LJ and Beasly being the Beast in the East? They would dominate! Hell, give Wade Bosh and they still dominate. I think LJ and Wade really need to talk things though and work together. I would really like to see those two on the same team next season. It would be my second favorite team.

So lets assume that wade, bron and bosh all either go to the heat or resign, who do the Nets and the Knicks buy?

Joe Johnson, Amare. Can see both of them switching teams/going to one of NJ/NY. Manu, Boozer. I like NJ's situation a lot better than NY's, since NJ at the very least has Lopez, Harris, and their lottery pick this season. NY hs two players(Gallinari and Chandler) who play the same position, and Jordan Hill. And then they can retain Lee, I suppose. Joe Johnson on that team still sucks. Joe Johnson and Boozer, alongside Harris, Lopez, Courtney Lee, Terrence Williams is pretty solid, IMO.

Knicks aren't in a good place right now. Their coach is all about running and gunning. Who wants on a team that is likely to fail in the post season because of it? I think NJ has a good chance with either Bosh or LJ. Lopez is no joke. That guy looks like a beast out there, and if he finally gets the NBA timing down, he would do very well with LJ or Bosh. Both are players that would make Lopez a much better asset. Then you factor having a great PG and you got a solid trio. I think NJ will have a shot at one of the big three available, just because they have lopez, Yi and Harris.

I think Amare wouldn't mind going to NY. He loves their coach and he knows Amare very well. I think that's going to be his new home.

As for the team salaries, I think a lot will depend on which players decide to opt out of their contracts. Doubtful, but Chandler could potentially opt out, putting the Bobcats at roughly 47. Bulls are currently at 37.6, but will drop another 5.8 if Salmons opts out, or if they can move him. Cleveland is at about 35, without Lebron. If Dirk opted out, Dallas can renounce Dampier and Josh Howard, and be around 39. He already said otherwise, but if Yao opted out, Houston would go from 43 to 26. If Redd opted out(unlikely), Milwauke would be at 33. PHX will likely be around 46 after Amare opts out.
