So it is well noted that the best way to get a guy in a trade for cheap is watching the organization they play for crumble and blow it up. These teams are usually looking to shed salaries and bring in picks/young cheap contracts.
The Blazers, with the addition of Nurkic, are mostly looking to shore up the role players and bench, but another star would be nice for sure.
So of the teams with these types of players, is there anyone specifically you think NO should chase?
Clips will blow it up after they get ousted by Utah.
Can we/Do we want/get Griffin? Is there anyone on their bench we should be looking at?
Toronto made trades this year to try to compete with Cleveland, but ended up dropping down to the 6th spot.
There is a good chance if they don't get out of the second round, they will be looking to make moves. Is there anyone on their roster we should go after?
Can anyone else think of any teams that are more than likely looking to make major changes/blow things up this off season? If so, who on those teams would you target?
I think I might go after Maurice Speights might be a perfect backup for Nurk on a good salary. I would target him from the clips.
How about Bruno Cabloco from Toronto? young Cheap and pretty impressive Per. Might not contribute big right away, but has decent potential.
Thoughts? Discuss?
remember, this is only for teams that we believe will be blowing it up. If the team is on the hunt to win, they they dot belong in this discussion. (Toronto is iffy, I know, but they have gotten worse as the years has gone buy, they must have real concerns about whether their roster can contend as constructed I think)
