2nd-seeded Dimitrov makes quarterfinals at Istanbul Open

Bulgaria’s highest-ranking tennis player Grigor Dimitrov made it on Wednesday to the quarterfinals at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open tournament in Turkey, defeating qualifier Adrian Ungur (Romania).The Bulgarian second seed failed to build on his advantage after winning a tight opener, but held his nerve in the decider to clinch a 7-5 4-6 7-5 win.

Schwartzman Upsets Tomic; Karlovic's 300th Match Win

Ivo Karlovic snapped an eight-match losing streak on Thursday to record the 300th match win of his career.

The 36-year-old Karlovic, who has struggled to overcome a left knee injury, reached the milestone by knocking out Dusan Lajovic 7-6(11), 7-6(7) at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open.

Diego Schwartzman recorded the biggest match win of his career when the World No. 87 knocked outBernard Tomic, the top seed at No. 23 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, 6-2, 6-2 in 64 minutes.

Dimitrov Closes In On Istanbul Final

Grigor Dimitrov is one match win away from reaching his eighth ATP World Tour final, having advanced to the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open semi-finals for the second year running.

Second seed Dimitrov recovered to beat sixth seed Jiri Vesely 7-6(1), 6-1 in 77 minutes on Friday. Dimitrov fought back from a 2-5 deficit in the first set and saved one set point at 4-5, when Vesely was serving at 40/30.
