TED and other interesting topics

So in this forum we have been going round and round on the same few topics, religion v atheism, Acceptance of varying sexualities in modern society, Obama and how evil he is, and a few others. Great fun, I will continue to explore these.

But I thought it would be fun to post some other interesting topics, I have watched a good number of TED talks, and almost any topic can be fascinating or fun to learn about if the teacher (speaker) knows their stuff and are good at presenting. So, post some good ones.

My first selection is from 2009, and is a 15-20 minute presentation about the future of mankind, starting with our current financial issues and ending up in science and technologies. It's also funny. Enjoy.

I have not listened to it yet, but here is a recent 25 minute presentation by Juan Enriquez. I'll check back in once I've had a chance to listen and Ill let you know what I think. This one is at the 2013 fiscal summit.

OK, so I just watched the second clip, the 2013 one. Very interesting, basically a discussion starts with the deficit, the pressures and spending and the need for corrections. The second part is where investments should go to stimulate growth and jobs in the nation and a robust economy. This second part is heavily intertwined with genetics, science and technology. Overall, very interesting, and the man seems like he is a very rational thinker and an interesting speaker.

You don't need to listen to this the talks I mentioned, post a vid and topic that interested you. Monkeys in space or the history of Zappa. Just something new and interesting for others to discover.
