The park is not liable. The kid unfortunately got more than he bargained for, but the park is definetly not responsible.

See here is my problem, I know when someone at our SF park here in Jersey goes into a area such as that we in security are right there and the person is leaving the park for the year. Now i would want to think that for the most part all of our parks are run the same way, but where was SFOG security when this happend?

Yeah, true. There should of been at least one person patrolling the area making sure that this wouldn't happen. I can't see a good court case though.

I have no idea. I assume that security didn't see it, or maybe they weren't there. Maybe they didn't feel there was a need to keep an eye out on that area for whatever reason.

But once that kid jumped the fences, he put himself at danger.

Another thing: Where the hell was his church group? Just standing by idly, I guess.

From the reports that i have read they just watched it happen. Amazing anit it? Watch the family come back and try to sue saying Oh they sign was not big enough or the fence or Security did not stop us.

Well i know for a fact that security should not be allowing people to even be in a area that is closed off to the public.

I have many times myself have removed people from being near a area like this one, the people dont like it but oh well it's there life that will be hurt or killed, and if they dont like being removed you will be leaving the park for a year. That is if they are near the fence, if they are allready in it they are leaving no and's or If's about it.

It's too bad the kid didn't have a better head on his shoulders. That is such a stupid thing to do.

Agreed, it is coming out from our sister park down there in Atlanta that this may have been over a hat that was lost on the Batman: The Ride roller coaster. Anyone who has ever been to our park SFGA ( Six Flags Great Adventure) in Jersey knows the roller coaster I am talking about.

Exactly.

I am sorry guys but i am just waiting to hear what the reason for the lawsuit will be.

"Oh but there were not enough signs"

"Oh but the fence was too short"

"Oh But security did not stop us"

Or

There should have been 5 fences instead of 2.

It should should been an electric fence with barb wire.

Believe it or not, the family will have a wrongful death case if they choose to pursue one. The park does have a duty to protect its patrons from a danger such as a speeding rollercoaster, and it is foreseeable for somebody to attempt to retrieve a lost article from under the coaster. Even though signs were posted and fences were erected, the family can still plead that the victim easily gained access to the danger zone and the park didn't do enough to protect him from being killed. By law, the park is partially negligent and required to pay a portion of the actual damages and probably even punitive damages.

The kid climbed 2 6 feet tall feneces, BIG says where all over the fence saying DANGER ZONE DO NOT ENETER! AUTHORIZED PERSONS ONLY! In big White lettering on a red Backround.

Agian I dont how for sure how SFOG runs, however i do know here at SFGA we can see people in those zones darn quickly, and when we do we stop the ride and remove the person(s) from the park for the year. I myself have caught a few people trying to get into the Danger Zoen under Superman Ulitamte Flight here at GA.

Wow. Whoever was on the rollercoaster who's foot hit the teen is going to have serious issues for a while.

Well if it was decapitated, I'd have to wonder if he hit the actually metal on the coaster as opposed to a foot.

It's a rollercoaster where people's feet are dangling, so I'm assuming it was a foot.

Well apparently an employee died that way (by a foot). However I thought it would be pretty hard to decapitate someone with a foot wouldn`t it (question mark) Maybe a foot going 50 mph could decapitate a head, I dunno. Do they tell them to take their shoes off (a lot of rides do that)

As of right now it is unkown, however to take someone's head off i got to think it's more than just someone's foot. Though at 50 MPH it may be possible i guess.

By the way Batman is one great coaster, i've ridden it like 20 times in a row before.

I would be more than happy to answer that question on the shoes atleast here at SFGA. On the coasters Batman ( the same one where this happend), superman, medusa, and Nitro we make ( or suppose to) reomve flip flops, however we do not ask that shoes be removed ( for health reason's)
