What a terrible, terrible thing. Hard to believe it slipped past the Tennessean staff, but it did...

The Tennessean, the largest newspaper in the state of Tennessee, ran a full-page advertisement from a fringe religious group Sunday that cited the Bible and warned Nashville residents that a nuclear bomb will be set off by "Islam" next month. The ad also declared Donald Trump the "final president of the USA," as foreseen in the Christian Bible.

The pseudo-religious writing by the Ministry of Future for America issued an unfounded claim that on July 18, 2020, unnamed Islamic forces in association with Russia and other world powers will detonate a nuclear device in Nashville. Repeatedly citing "God's Word" and including a photo of Pope Francis in front of burning American flags, the group claimed Trump's battle with Democrats was prophesied in the Bible.

"We are under conviction to not only tell you but to provide evidence that on July 18, 2020, Islam is going to detonate a nuclear device in Nashville, Tennessee," the group's authors wrote in the ad. "Bible prophecy specifies that Donald Trump is the final president of the USA. President Trump has been typified by many biblical leaders and is marked in God's Word ... the intensity of division that is taking place between liberal and conservative Americans is manifested daily in the news."...................................

NASHVILLE (WSMV) - The Tennessean newspaper has issued an apology and launched an investigation after an ad ran in their Sunday edition they say goes against their long-established standards.

The ad, which featured a declaration of an impending nuclear attack in Nashville by Islam, was ordered to be pulled from any future editions by sales executives and an investigation has been launched.

This ad follows another "end of time" ad that ran in the June 17, 2020 edition which did not mention Islam.

The President of Marketing Solutions and Chief Revenue Officer for Gannett, parent company of The Tennessean, Kevin Gentzel, took to Twitter after the ad had been published and distributed:

I don't get the purpose of the investigation.

How did this happen?

Duh, money. They paid money to have an ad placed.

There's a poster in here that has said he thinks Trump does god's work and crazy stuff like that. But where does he live again...? Curious...

We don't need a thread on here for every example of HATE being tossed around. Like the one those rednecks had going on here forever...... remember the one that eveytime somebody who was brown got busted for a crime, they posted it. No white people, just the brown ones.

that was actually a thread here?

Shit yeah it was Maris and the guy from Central Oregon continued to update it EVERY GOD DAMN day with links to stories of any NON white people committing a crime. The only thread on here I've ever actually reached out to a mod to complain about. It was bad. Was it the one about building a wall? It was horrible. They would wake up in the morning looking for articles. Made me sick to my stomach. Wonder who THEY voted for.

Oh yeah, I kind of forgot about him.

Are you trying to tie in ABM, the person who revealed just how vile this post is, with the vile people who paid for the ad?

What would make you think that? Does he have a history of posts that sound similar to what he's talking about here?

I didn't say I thought that. I was wondering about the possibility. I think that distinction is important.
Now, I was wondering because ABM has tied in his belief that God doesn't want abortion and because ABM lives in Tennessee.
Also, Propagandist expressed curiosity about an implied connection with the ad and the person I just described, which seems to clearly be ABM.
Okay, that's a mouthful but you asked for it.

Your moniker serves you well.

If this happens on July 18, I think we can all agree that every poster in this thread except me owes the newspaper an apology.

The Tennessee code of Southern chivalry will still be outraged without you leaving an apology, SUH, I say, SUH.

Look at me when I'm talkin' to ya, boy. You in a HEEEEEAAP o'trouble. That's a joke, son.

Religion will at some point be the worlds demise.
