Yep, and unless the West fesses up and does what needs to be done....it will not stop.....and, a few more and more of these terrible events and some people will come to the realization that the best, "easiest" most efficient way to STOP skumbags like these as soon as possible in their tracks is to have MORE law abiding responsible thoroughly checked citizens with personal hand guns on their person.

My goodness, these lowlifes would be dealt with immediately ON THE SPOT in The Old West.

Not only "ISIS".....I'm afraid IMO we're talking about whole regions that have to be dealt with just as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan was during WW2.

Who can forget how France refused to send troops or aid of any sort, during the Gulf War, Desert Storm 1st, then Shock and Awe, not a Frenchman to be seen, "C'est dommage," or- (what a shame).......

now, and once again, the French are paying the price for their failure to keep "Red Socialist Liberals" out of the Govt, while refusing to be a part of an Allied Force(s)...

France is our first and oldest ally. We've gone in some different directions in the past as their socialism took them astray. But at this point, the west must come together and destroy these jihadists.
 
...Tote, I'm well aware of the historical record with the French and yes, it started out as a strong friendship at first but not in the last 100 years or so...recently our alliance with France has almost always been one sided. They are always looking to the US for help when they are in a jam but they seldom return the favor...France is a bunch of cheese eating fair weathered surrender specialists..

...my first post of "Imagine", was once again a reference to the fact that much of this world's problems stem directly from religious differences...the same ole "my god is better than your God" mentality that has been going on for thousands of years and costing millions of lives. Can you or anyone else explain why there is a need for so many different religions in this world, and what real purpose they serve?...or why there a need for any religions at all?
...I don't wan't to get into some big philosophical pissing match but although Lennon's query may be viewed as unrealistic or idealistic by some, it still brings up some very valid points and questions...when you look at the wide world "brotherhood of man", why is there a need for "money, or countries, ...or religion"?
 
Ron...no pissing match. I got the imagine reference and I acknowledged our differences with France.

Look in my mind this is the ultimate culture war. Either they win or we do. That means killing them and humiliating them to the point that they seek other options.

...what you are talking about is how to deal with the terrorist problem...what I'm talking about is why that problem even exists in the first place .
 
...fwiw, I'd like to be able to peer into the not so distant future and find out whether we finally solve our petty differences and figure out how to live as one human race, without the perceived need for religion, money, or borders...OR we eventually nuke each other into oblivion, which is probably the more likely scenario.
 
I read recently (I forget where) that a poll was taking asking "Do you think the world would be better off if there was only one religion?" & FWIW: 78% polled said yes.

The problem with a poll like that is that the ones who voted yes are essentially admitting religious beliefs are at the core of much of this world's problems....but if you ask those same people if the would consider converting to a different religion, most would probably say no...therein lies the problem,
...still don't see the need for any religion...personally, I don't have the need to blindly follow someone else's "road map" for life.
 
The "French" are good tough compassionate people....they were willing to charge and fight and lose MILLIONS of young men in the face of horrendous modern warfare (ww1)....Verdun..ect. They had military commanders feeling disgrace and guilt over "defeat" actually committing suicide right up to Dien Bien Phu ....(with help from the usual culprit China) 10K or so French soldiers were eventually overcome by an enemy force of least twice the size after more then 50 days.

Same as the U.S. involvement in Vietnam where if WASNT conducted with ALL the military might and dedication as was used in WW2!
Typical case of a shithole "country" (culture/communist/intolerant Islam) benefiting and laughing at the West's lack of resolve and "dedication" to WINNING a "war".

The European nations and America are too busy trying to be "nice" and have a serious problem bendkng over backwards to be "compassionate", and continuously allowing steady immigration from those who have clashing religious and cultural beliefs. Today we have the perfect "storm" and opportunity for western Judeo Christian Nations to stand their ground,and tell those Muslim Nations to take care of THEIR problems and "welcome" the large vast majority of these "refugees" into THEIR homelands...including and especially Saudi Arabia and Iran....let them eat each other and use recources with Europe and America CLOSING their borders.

"Historians" and "archeologists" hundreds of years from now will come to the conclusion that modern free industrial nations (Europe,America) allowed themselves to be swallowed up while the Arab and Asian Nations sat by and fiddled to the music rolling their eyes.

Why? Ron the answer is quite simple. Humans are mamals first, and evolution dictates that the most fit survive. Religion, society, etc these are artificial constructs. Peace is a fools concept. We've doubled the population over the last 40 years, the herd needs to be culled. And sorry but these sand nixxers just fucking volunteered to go.

There is no one human race....even now homo sapiens are evolving to the next species. The 0.1% DNA difference is enough for selection pressure to drive the process. Me...I think the Anglo gene complex has the best shot if we have the balls to take it. Time will tell.
