It perplexes me how GMs who "resign on their own accord" simply because their contract is up at the end of the year are lauded as some sort of noble gentlemen. I mean, if they came to work the day after their contract expired, and had to be escorted from the premises, would that make a difference?

I'm baffled by the "playing dumb" stance people take on here.

Poster A: "He resigned on his own terms."

Poster B: "Well, his contract wasn't being renewed, so he was going to be out of a job in a month."

Poster A: "He resigned on his own terms."

Poster B: "He was a few weeks away from not having a job, and he'd be out of work now anyhow because his contract expired."

Poster A: "He resigned on his own terms."

Poster B: "Come on, there really isn't a difference."

Poster A: "You're on Team KP."

Meh

OK! I give! I'm finally a believer!

KP was a know nothing incompetent fool, who did nothing but lock the media out of the 2006 pre draft workouts.

Thank you Paul Allen for firing the man who masterminded the 2006 draft as soon as it was over and hiring an incompetent boob to run the team the last 4 years.

Finally!!!!!

Finally the credit you and Larry Miller and Dirt Clod and Phil the scout all deserve.

Can't wait to see what you do for your next trick. I'm sure it's going to be fucking amazing.

YIPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that members of Team KP are done arguing with themselves--

Thank you, Paul Allen. Best owner in the NBA.

Those 22 seasons contained 636 team seasons. Owners enjoyed 22 championship seasons and 614 nonchampionship seasons, a 3% success rate.

Reason 2. The Oregonian demanded we blow up a .600 team, so we lost a third of the 22 seasons. After Patterson and Nash did their bidding and gave away people, the paper turned against them. Pritchard's goal was to take his time and let it bake. So we didn't try during a third of the 22 seasons.

So the best owner in the NBA let a newspaper tell him what to do.

Bless.

I'm a results oriented guy, all I hear there is "blah, blah, blah"

So then your opinion is that the Oregonian owns the team. If Allen is not even the owner of an NBA franchise, how can he be the best one?

Or is this a Zen exercise, where the best NBA owner is the one that fails to exist? Deep.

I have a feeling this thread is about to really take off.

Can't wait to see what happens next.

KP ruined Martell and Sabby! I knew it! Somebody get Steve Patterson on the horn, STAT! Another log to throw on the fire!

Webster wasn't on that team. It was KP's inability to win (m)any games that put us in a position to pass on Paul and Williams and take Webster.

No, because of that, Pritchard ruined Martell by putting Portland in the position to draft him, therefore putting unrealistic expectations on him BECAUSE Portland passed over Paul and Williams.

It's KP's fault. Had Martell been merely drafted by Portland without the trade, he'd be an All-Star right now. I've yet to see concrete evidence disproving my theory.

Another master stroke by the best owner in the NBA.

Honestly I'm fucking buzzing with excitement to see what he does next.

So far Danny Ferry doesn't want to leave Cleveland to work for the best owner in the NBA.

HAPPY DAYS AHEAD!!!!!!!!
