What an absolute bonehead. On a night when we don’t have Whiteside and need all the live bodies we can get, he finds a way to get himself kicked out of the game. If I were management, I would dock him a game’s pay. This kind of thing drives me crazy.

It doesn't bother me at all and like I said in the game thread I could see it being something that Lillard and Ariza talked about pregame.

These are the last few games before the longest in season break. Most of these guys are going to someplace warm to rest and relax for a few days. Especially the young guys on the team, their heads were elsewhere.

Adversity can make a team stronger. What did we need more tonight, Ariza or our bench players checked out and thinking about what they're going to be doing in a few days from now?

Lillard, Melo, and Ariza were all much more demonstrative tonight than we usually see them. I think that was by design. Telling everyone else to focus on the game instead of focusing on their vacations.

Down Whiteside, in Utah, and that ended up being one of our most combative games of the season.

And we almost pulled it off!

Have to agree. Hurt his team.

On another matter, Whiteside should have suited up at halftime.....just saying

I'm not too sure that he's not a double agent for the Lakers.

I have no problem with what he did. Refs were bullshit. My only gripe is that he didn't take Royce O'Neale out of the game with him. Preferably with a real actual punch to the fucking face.

I was pissed too..but the team needs the fire. Could be a season defining game...
Now, they're ALL pissed.

After the Ant injury, Ariza was justified. If the refs were worth a damn, they would have realized they needed to start calling it tighter on both sides.

If anything its like he knew the refs were going to pull bullshit off and chewed them out for seeing the future. That or he fueled them to do that.

It was still stupid. But taken in the context of that entire game, justified. I’m glad we have someone that doesn’t take shit from the league.

Actually watching the replay he is completely justified. Ariza isn’t mad at the contact with Bradley, it’s Georges Niang undercutting him from the back and Ariza nearly falling. This comes after Ant got undercut and had a concussion. I’m 100% with Ariza on this. Bullshit like this needs to be called out.

I have the absolute opposite opinion of this. Ariza and Melo both are seeing what is happening as far as the Blazers are concerned. Ariza got mauled on two previous drives with no call. The third one was just the last straw. Yes bad night for it to happen but it will set the stage for the next game and maybe the next month.
We watched an edge last night and actually in the last few games that the Blazers need. In order to play well in the playoffs you must start playing "Playoff" basketball. I suspect this team will respond and the refs will have to also.

Didn’t get a chance to see the game but if Ariza got tossed getting pissed at bad reffing then more power too him.
