When I discussed LA's game earlier this year I mentioned he needed to work the paint more and add a three point shot. Well in two games he has been a beast. In those two games LA has taken just 6 shots beyond 20 feet in game 1 he made all three including 2 three pointers. In game two he was 1/3 from that range.

In game 1 LA took 13 shots in the paint, had 13 free throw attempts and 7 offensive rebounds. In game 2 LA took 8 shots in the paint and got 8 free throw attempts.

This is the kind of play we need from LA on a nightly basis. It was nice to geta solid road win not tainted by the refs. Keep up the good work LA and thanks for listening.

Yeah, if this is how he's going to play in the Playoffs I can deal with him taking it easy during the regular season! I love seeing him clean up the O-Boards for easy points, too! Absolutely unbelievable play in these first two games!

He averaged 23pts/11rbds during the regular season. Sure, that's taking it easy, lol.

Talking about taking the easy jumper rather than working in the paint. This is a completely different LMA we're seeing in the Playoffs!

So you want more from LMA in the regular season? You think he should score 40+ points a night? You guys are amazing. Cmeese trying to take credit for LMA's performance and you bitching about what he does during the regular season.

No, no, no. Please re-read what I wrote. If this is how he's going to play in the Playoffs I'm FINE with him shooting jumpers throughout the regular season!

Lamarcus is playing great, no question there. I don't think it proves we need him to play this well every single game during the regular season. We finished 54-28, our 6th best season in team history. Lamarcus was the 8th top scorer and 7th rebounder. I am pretty sure he brought enough to the team.
Should we still trade Lillard for Conley?

Great job, coach. Yeah, you're the reason.

Has anyone ever thought that maybe Aldridge wanted to save himself for the true season? The one that really matters?

If he's going to hit those jumpers to save his body for post season, then I'm all for his coasting.

I didn't think it until Game 1.

And that's all I'm saying is that I'M COOL WITH IT if this is how he does in the Playoffs. I'm not terribly concerned about regular season record so long as we get a decent seed. Heck, if LMA wants to take every other game off during the regular season so he can go kryptonite all over Dwight's ass in the POs, that's fine too! All that matters is Playoff wins.

This. You saved me a lot of typing. Thanks.

I didn't catch that and sorry I assumed.

GO BLAZERS!

Everyone knows cm is the biggest troll in this forum now. I'm sure he is trying to take credit for Aldridge's emergence in the playoffs.

It reminds me of the movie "American Hustle" when the dudes wife rats christian bales character to the mob and he comes back screaming at her. She said "see I knew you were gonna come up with a plan, that's why I told them to beat it out of you"

LOL!

I'd look in at O-Live, (if it didn't make me want to barf), to see if the users of these terms were still posting.

Had management listened to the OP, LA would be traded and Blazers would be in the lottery with some other teams draft pick.

Thanks for not listening management.

Why don't we see how his team does tonight because so far he has played really well.

When did I say trade LA? I said if he wants to leave get something for him. Big fucking difference.

I agree with Blue9, and I think maybe you're reading him wrong. Ideally, Alridge should be taking most of his shots down low, and working hard to get in the paint. But that tires him out, and we don't want him to get hurt or too sore. So if Aldridge can do that on any given night, but instead just chooses to practice his jumpers. However, now that the playoffs are here, he's bringing the hard banging down low game out when we need it.

I'm seeing a lot of shots go in the last two games... Low percentage shots that are falling, but the same shots nonetheless that people flip the frak out over during the regular season. Interesting.

Last game more so than the first.

I think it's a legitimate argument to say that he was coasting somewhat during the regular season. Even still, remember that he was the only starter who missed a game (13 games, actually).

If he continues to play even close to this throughout the playoffs, I will never say another unkind word about his penchant for jumpers in the regular season again.

Series split 1-1
game one
Conley 16 pts, 5 reb, 11 ast
Westbrook 23pts, 10reb, 5ast

Game 2
Conley 19pts, 7 reb, 12 ast
Westbrook 29pts, 7reb, 8 ast

Playing well for sure, but not exactly shutting down Westbrook.

I am not trying to take credit for shit, did I outline the steps he needed to take to dominate yes, but I can guarantee you that so did his entire fucking coaching staff. It is really basketball 101 do not shoot a ton of 20 foot jumpers, get to the free throw line, and keep the defense honest with the three point shot. I am just thanking LA for listening and stepping his game up.

Do I deserve credit for knowing efficient basketball, nope, no one should get credit for pointing out the obvious. 20 foot jumpers are bad, shots in the paint that draw fouls, generate free throw attempts and put players in position to fight for offensive rebounds are good.

That's true for Game 2. But Game 1 he DOMINATED THE PAINT. And last night it was clear that he was catatonic and wasn't going to miss - when that happens you just gotta ride it. Given his Game 1 performance I have no doubt that he would have done something different (go inside or pass) if his shot wasn't falling.

I do think Stotts held him out too long in the 4th and that's why he missed his last few jumpers.

If he is going to coast at least mix in some three point jumpers that way his game is a mix of 15-18 foot jumpers and threes during the regular season.

Did you even watch the last game? Half his points came from long jumpers.
