Thanks for listening LA

I am not trying to take credit for shit, did I outline the steps he needed to take to dominate yes, but I can guarantee you that so did his entire fucking coaching staff. It is really basketball 101 do not shoot a ton of 20 foot jumpers, get to the free throw line, and keep the defense honest with the three point shot. I am just thanking LA for listening and stepping his game up.

Do I deserve credit for knowing efficient basketball, nope, no one should get credit for pointing out the obvious. 20 foot jumpers are bad, shots in the paint that draw fouls, generate free throw attempts and put players in position to fight for offensive rebounds are good.

Well thanks for trying to take credit for what everyone knew already. Glad you cleared that up.

true. but man oh man he would get crucified in here if those werent falling.

Agreed, but LMA is what he is at this point. People have to just accept that he's primarily a mid-range (though elite) shooter, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Series split 1-1
game one
Conley 16 pts, 5 reb, 11 ast
Westbrook 23pts, 10reb, 5ast

Game 2
Conley 19pts, 7 reb, 12 ast
Westbrook 29pts, 7reb, 8 ast

Playing well for sure, but not exactly shutting down Westbrook.

No he is not shutting him down but Westbrook is barely shooting 40% and has 8 turnovers to go with his 13 assists. Westbrook is too good to stop completely but he is making him work his ass off while staying out of foul trouble and facilitating well for his team, which can be seen by his double digit assist total each night.

Plus his team now has home court advantage taking a game from OKC on the road.

Did you even watch the last game? Half his points came from long jumpers.

Yes his shots were falling from 15-18 feet he was not taking 20-22 foot jumpers like he did routinely during the regular season. Plus he still took 8 shots in the paint a significant improvement over the regular season.

Were you watching the shots he was hitting? They weren't wide open. They were fadeaways with Asik and Howard right in his face. Low percentage shots that were going in. Low percentage shots that you were crucifying him for taking in the regular season.

Seriously B-Roy why even bother this this troll? He is the wife of Christian Bale in American Hustle to a T. Just let him think he's got it all figured out, when the rest of the forum knows he's on Pluto.

LMA has talked, after both playoffs games, about how tired he's been afterwards. The way he is playing right now would take a toll on him during the regular season, especially during stretches of 4 games in 5 nights.

Some of us mentioned in the regular season that it is impossible to know if he would actually be more effective for the entire regular season if he had to fight as hard and bang every night.

Yeah,

Check this shot out:

If Aldridge missed this shot cmeese would be asking to trade him for David Lee.

Exactly! This is when we need LaMonster!

I'm hoping in game 3 he does what he did in game 1... because I do agree with a few of the posters... those were some tough as hell shots and low %... I love an LMA that gets down in the trenches.

His shots from 0-3 ft have increased from .186 to .254, but I would say those are due to good rotation as a team and not due to him backing anyone down like D12 was doing the first quarter. His shots from 3-10ft were nearly identical going from .162 to .169, only slightly down on 10-16 ft going from .226 to .169 and 16ft to 3pt from .415 to .373.

As already said, the difference is just that LA is hitting those mid-range shots at a crazy percentage right now and would be chastised if they were off the mark.

I think Aldridge will be the decoy in game 3. I expect big games from Lillard, Matthews and Batum from the home crowd.

I still expect Aldridge to score +20, but it will be out of necessity keeping the defense honest.

I was wondering how he was going to address LMA's jumper-heavy game 2 where he singlehandedly won us a road playoff game. Apparently, the answer is ignore reality and pretend all of his points were in the paint.

When did I say trade LA? I said if he wants to leave get something for him. Big fucking difference.

You've said multiple times you'd trade LA meese, once for Taj Gibson or Jimmy Butler, once for Harrison Barnes last season. You've been pretty brutal in your judgement of his game for a long time. Haven't heard much from you since we've had playoff success but why would you take credit for LA having historical numbers in the first two games? You might just show up and cheer for the guys sometimes you know? Thanks for listening cmeese

I would love this. I think he'll be a decoy unless Jones is on him. Same thing they do with Harden on Matthews.

That's been a huge key. Harden plays D, he gets rattled on O. Love it.

Repped like a Boss! Love it Riverman. :)

The more I think about it, the funnier it is. Your rally cry is fewer jumpers for LaMarcus and has been all season. LaMarcus has a monster game 2 filled with jumpers, many of which were highly contested. Then you say, "Thanks for listening." Huh? You're delusional.

BTW, aren't you the guy who said that you root for LMA to go 5-21 from the field so you can be "right" in your simplistic arguments?

If they put Jones on him, McHale should be fired on the spot.

I tweeted LA to make sure he concentrates when he shoots because that should help him make his shots. Glad he listened.

I think this is why he wanted a true center to play with instead of a hustle power forward like Hickson. He has shown less wear this year it seems.

Well, Jones did end up on him a few times last night... so, the walking papers are being faxed (e-mailed?) as we speak.

No I mean the game plan being Jones playing him straight up. Of course Jones will be on him in spurts.

What is funny is how I saw the strategy of McHale. He used Dwight, Asik and Jones being fresh all time to try and wear Aldridge down. Obviously that didn't work. I'm curious how McHale will come out tomorrow? I suspect he will use Batums man to double Aldridge, most likely parsons.

Ohh man how badly I would like to be at the Rose Garden tomorrow!

Talking about taking the easy jumper rather than working in the paint. This is a completely different LMA we're seeing in the Playoffs!
This is LaMarcus without groin and/or back pain.

LaMarcus with groin and/or back pain was still pretty danged good...

There is no 'decoy'. You take what the defense gives you. If LaMarcus has a favorable matchup, and can get to the basket, exploit it. If they bring the double, exploit it. If he's shooting well, shoot it.

And above all: Run Beverley into some hard screens. Just for the fun of it.
