the opposite of that is that we can't send the military after him. Even if it makes sense and might save lives, and there's a whole bunch of Marines up the road at 29 Palms to help out. Posse comitatus applies.

Something broke the axle on his truck and incinerated it. No motive for him to torch the truck, so who did?

LOL. Any drone spotted in my neighborhood would be shot down immediately. People around here like the quiet seclusion and privacy.

I think it is pretty obvious Dorner burnt his truck.

The question is did he burn it there to lead the police on a wild goose chase into the mountains, or did the axle break forcing him to leave (and burn) the truck.

I figure burning the truck destroys any evidence the police might obtain to try and track him down. Which leads me to believe the axle broke and he had to proceed on foot (unless he got another vehicle somehow)

Maybe he dropped a smoke in his lap and wrecked the truck trying to slap out the cherry, but a piece lodged in the carpet? Then, while he was looking at the broken axle, the cherry turned into flames?

Started as a home invasion (2 woman?). One was able to escape . . . then the shootout shortly after that.

Probably should have started a new thread, but check out the drone thread for updates. on situation.

Home invasion; two woman tied up; one escaped; shootout shortly after with two officers being hit and airlifted out; Dorner goes on run via vehicle and is now locked down in a cabin; police tell media (including helicopters) to clear the area. Sounds like police gearing up for major assualt on the cabin.

Sources: "Hundreds of rounds" were exchanged in about 1/2 an hour during gun battle between #Dorner & law enforcement
