I just don’t see any straight up trade with the Knicks that wouldn’t include Randle. If Fournier is the biggest contract coming back, New York would have to add other players, and we already have a full roster. Not saying it couldn’t be done but it would require multiple other moves and we don’t need Fournier to begin with. So it’s either Randle, or a three way imo.

We can include minimum salary players in the deal, Snell, Zeller, McLemore. And their $ doesn't matter for matching purposes, because any team can take back minimum salary guys

like I said , it still doesn’t make nearly as much sense as Randle.

they just traded two starters...it’s already happening.
CJ is a different beast from Powell and Roco. Until he's actually dealt, I just assume he'll never leave. I half expect him to take over Michael Holton's job as soon as he's done playing.

I get what you’re saying, it does feel like he’ll be here forever lol.

CJ's gonna be on a national show the moment he's retired, not a podunk Blazers Broadcast. But his connections to the area aren't going to change just cuz he's traded to NY or NO. That 300 acre farm he just bought will keep him in the PNW for most of his life, I would presume.

The Blazers spent the first half of the year questioning effort, energy, and buy-in.

I can't think of a worse solution to that than Julius Randle. That guy is having issues this season because he stopped playing defense for one of the best defensive coaches in the leage.

Avoid players like that at ALL costs.

I'm there too. Randle is an absolute no.

And I have read that he's not doing what the coach wants on offense either, big risk on a five year contract.

Thibs has had issues with multiple players, maybe he’s the problem.

For us, maybe. Including Randle when they have so much other $$ being spent on guards doesn't make a ton of sense for NY.
And, I suppose, there's always the potential that NY is asset accumulation, and we then turn around and use those assets in a different deal. Gets picks from NY, and send them to Atlanta for Collins, etc.

One of the Knicks writers on SB said a trade for McCollum would look something like Fournier, Kemba and Burks. Although I wouldn't mind Fournier or Burks being part of the deal, I would say a big hell no to Kemba.

YaY! More guards.

Kemba at a $9 million expiring next season isn't something I want, but its not really a bad contract if we like the other pieces. I would want a pick or young player if we only get that plus Burks and Fournier though.

I'm still skeptical Cronin would trade CJ. But ok, the two main suitors are NY and NO

I'm pretty skeptical about Randle. I don't like his contract and I'm not sure about his attitude. But if he's not included I don't like what else the Knicks could send. Say no to Fournier

I like the Pels players better. The often mentioned Hart + Sato + Hayes works (don't like the legal issues Hayes has), CBA-wise, but I'd like the Pels to add a first. But the Pels could delete the 1st if they agreed to a Winslow for DFS swap

DFS is a Mav, not a Pelican?
Herb Jones?

How would you feel if the Blazers didn't get Randle back but instead got Obi Toppin as part of the deal? I think that's where there's value to be found, personally, if the Blazers are dealing with the Knicks.
