I think the Sixers-Nets deal has a pretty high probability of blowing up in both teams' faces.
Sixers gave up a lot, and I'm trying to recall the last time Harden made good players around him better. They still have some useful pieces and on a given night they might look tremendous, but I think there's a big deficiency in leadership on that team.
The Nets probably have the best lineup to compete with the Bucks, but you're adding Simmons to an already dysfunctional group of stars.
I don't think either of these teams is better than the Bucks team that I saw on this West Coast swing the last week. That's a strong team mentally with the best player in the NBA right now. Their second and third stars aren't great, but they are solid and they're winners. The rest of the team was beautifully constructed around them, and Portis looks like he's found a gear no one realized he had before.
And if the Sixers and Nets don't at least get to the finals, those fanbases are going to explode.
