Jeff Green's a ball player. Green + Olynyk for Batum + McCollum I could get behind.

Batum/TRob/CJ to Brooklyn.

Deron Williams to Sacramento.

Rudy Gay to Portland.

In all seriousness though. Batum seriously is concerning. If he can't hit a shot, our contending chances are over.

Either we replace him or he gets out of this funk. At this point, I would give more burn to Crabbe and hope he can give us the points missed from Batum's terrible play

I agree. As much as I love Wes as the man gives us his heart and soul. Nic is the antithesis. There is no mistaken who his home country is. He is soft. In any case we either need to get something more dynamic than Nic at the three. Or we need to take Wes and upgrade him. This team if they are going to advance is going to have to look at these two positions. It would be unfair to move Wes. He has gave it up for this franchise. So It has to Nic. Either that or needs to do something he hasn't come in showing. Be a man.

I'm 3 years ahead of you guys when it comes to Batum

Must be sobering for a certain few people around here to realize I've been right this whole time. His ceiling just isn't that high.

Not as sobering as it is for you to know that your posts are predictable and you need to change up your game. so boring. yawn.

I think he needs a shooting coach - most of his misses are long. It's like he's aiming.

We're 20+ games in and his "slump" goes back to pre-season. His PER could dip into the single digits -- 11.5 now.

WRONG... This year is an anomaly. Show me where Batum has had these numbers before, otherwise "get the fuck outta here with your weak ass shit!"

It's not his numbers. You continue to miss the point.

It's the fact he has a limited ability on the offensive side of the floor. If his shot isn't falling he's almost useless because he can't create his own shot or even post up smaller guards. He's done a great job at not working on his weaknesses and in his 7th season he's basically the same player he's been his whole career.

I don't even care if he has a hot stretch for a couple weeks. Batum has shown he's just very average most of the time. It's been shown year after year. That's fine.... as long as the Blazers aren't paying him almost $12M per year, which they are.

I'm sure the excuses will continue to be made, though.

Is Tony Parker soft? No. He's a multiple time champion. Your logic is flawed.

Thanks for your reverse jinx post!

Batum turns 26 today.

Mags: "he hasn't missed a shot as a 26 year old!! So awesome!"
RoyToy: "he hadn't hit one, either. Offensive liability."
Kingspeed: "his shooting percentage is infinite. Learn the game then post."

Lol

26 and been in the league for a bunch of years. His potential is gone and what's left of him is disappointing.

I don't believe that a player can't keep improving. Aldridge's rebounds increased when most of you guys said he will only be a 8-9 rebound player.

Many said Matthews is just a spot shooter that can't post up. He's added that game to his arsenal.

Agree. There is a difference between these guys. Batum has a very different personality from Aldridge or Matthews. Which just adds to my beliefs that he is what he is. Unless something changes inside of him to have the work ethic of a guy like Matthews, he will continually disappoint.

Will be a laugh in 5 years to read the threads people have on him.

I'm not saying he will improve. I'm just debating that age and years in the league isn't a reason "why" someone can't improve.

I do agree that we get what we see with Batum, just explaining that players can and do improve, even being in the league for a long time

I'll tell you what frustrated the hell out of me with Batum. I don't want him playing for France for free. It wears on his body and it effects the quality of his play for the team that actually pays him.

This.

This is the same exact point I'm making. He and the french are not looking at it like this. But it's a conflict of interest. Portland is paying him money they feel he is worth to help them reach their organizational goals. He is not giving them his best and I don't if it's by choice or if it's due what he is putting into french basketball. I feel it's the latter.

If the Blazers come up just shy of winning it all and Nic is still playing like he is now. You can point the finger at this very matter. It's a conflict of interest.

Make a choice Nic. What allows you to go buy those great big gifts for Mom and Dad?

Every year I think Batum would benefit from taking a summer off from the national team. This summer he played banged up but had to try to carry his team for the most part. Now more than ever it just looks like he's burned out, banged up, and out of gas.

Nico, I'm begging you, TAKE A FREAKING SUMMER OFF!!
