Ya his good games are few and far between but only fair to bump this in the good as well as the (many) bad. And who knows, maybe this is the start of something?

27/10/5 (season high in points by far) but maybe even more importantly he also looked more active in general. And yes I know someone is going to bring up the last free throw. Wouldn't have been in the game period though at the end without him.

it sucks he didn't make the last ft but that is hardly the reason we lost. Dame should take his fair share tonight and really the last 5 games. He's a pretty big reason we've lost to the western playoff teams. Just chucks and chucks 3s like no tomorrow.

I'm more interested to see how he follows this up. He had a couple of good games when his Mom was in town for the holidays and then kind of vanished.

Let's see what happens. But good for Nico for having a good game. It was needed.

The first game with at least 20 points since ........game 5 against Houston.

And that includes pre-season.

Nice game for Nic!
One good game out of 40 odd isn't acceptable though, hopefully he can perform at this level for the remainder of the season.

Well let's hope this is the start of a positive trend. If Batum can perform like he did this game, there isn't a team in the league that can stop us.

Once LA and Rolo get back, he'll regress, I think. I love Nic as a person and all that, but on the court he is soooo passive with all of them out there. I don't want him taking 21 shots, but I want him to at least LOOK for his shot when the opportunity arises. That is where he's lacking the most.

"It's been a tough year for me," Batum said. "I played well, had a good game, but ... I had the biggest shot of the day and I missed it. So I don't really count it as a good game. You can have all the numbers you want, but when you miss a free throw to tie the game, you have to make it. I didn't make it."

Never mind that he also was the driving force behind the fourth-quarter comeback, recording 10 points, three rebounds and two assists, while making all three of his three-point attempts.

"But I missed a free throw," he said.

At the very least, the performance should give Batum a dose of confidence moving forward. Right?

"It was just one game," he said, dismissing that notion.

I don't care what he says here, I think that game was exactly what he needed to jump start his season.

Sadly, it sounds like he's going to let the free throw eat at his confidence. And that's a death knell for a shooter.

I hope not.

We aren't just counting on you Nic, we're also rooting for you.

Thanks for keeping us in the game. You'll get the next one.

I think he's saying all the right things. Most of which have been reiterated by we forum members. I don't think it will shake his confidence at all.

Crabbe started the game for Batum but Barton was subbed in for the start of the second half. What is up with Crabbe?
He had a couple of sub par games before he went to DNP land. This one was more of the same. Like all the bench guys, he needs to acclimate again to playing with the starters. Paul Pierce had him for lunch in the first qtr

He sure did.

I think a lillard stat tacker thread is going to be needed soon.

Insanely cold this month (besides the Laker games). I think he is banged up though.

I just hate that excuse. LA is banged up just as much as anyone and he is still putting his heart out there for us. If our guys are banged up so much that it affects there game (namely Batum and Lillard) than they need to sit there ass on the bench and heal up. Because right now nothing is even really translating to wins so may as well.

I think it's his back though, shooting with a bad back fucking sucks. Sitting is hard for a guy like Lillard is my guess. He'll fight through it.

I get that I'm not saying it is easy, but it really is better for players to heal up if they aren't even going to help the team. If we win than it is a different story but like I said him playing has hardly translated into wins so he and Batum really need to just sit it out and rest until the all star break. Some players need to swallow there pride.

Nic shows up to play like...
