Canzano's latest blabber is about how athletes shouldn't call themselves soldiers if they flop.

to which a reader responded:

It's part of our society's "win at all costs" attitude, and it's not limited to sports. You see the same attitude in business with salespeople who cheat and lie to get bonuses, mechanics who lie or exaggerate a cars condition to make more money, financial traders who use computer programs to trade stocks that haven't increased value, or media folks who use sensationalism to increase reader/listenership. Our society has no honor except in a few places, mainly because we have abandoned the idea of objective right and wrong.

Canzano immediately had to make a comment afterwards. I always think its funny when these journalists interact after a stupid article/column.

I never read him, because the guy has nothing substantive to say. It's all just hyperbole and musings that nobody really needs to read.

Is a journalist a journalist if, to cap off a months-long campaign against Paul Allen, he falsely reports that Allen is secretly trying to sell his team?

His claim is that he gets a separate set of rules since he is a columnist.

His column would have been fine if he would not play up the soldier angle. I do not like the soldier references by basketball players regardless of flopping.
