That sends rudy to a potential suitor

Suitors: Knicks, Celts, and Bulls

Rudy
Jeff Pendergraph
2011 1st round pick

for

Anthony Randolph

It should also make at least a tiny bit of sense for the other team, which that trade doesn't. ;) Randolph is a high upside player who's already played very well. No way New York would trade him for Rudy, the lesser of the Cunningham/Pendergraph duo and a pick.

Just to piss off the Knick fans:

Rudy | Bayless to New York

Gallanari to Portland

Works under the cap

:devilwink:

I really hope we're talking with all teams and not just the ones Rudy wants to go to.

Jerryd Bayless
Rudy Fernandez
Jeff Pendergraph
Future 1st

For... Carl Landry!

If the Knicks are a possible destination then he will accept the Nets too. I still think Miller and Rudy for Harris works for everyone.

Rudy to CHI for Charlottes 1st round pick. It may be a lottery pick. We jettison salary

except the nets of course.

I do see where some of the pieces would fit though to be honest, but they would need some more potential at least going their way, that's for sure. I'm sure Miller would make Lopez much better though and help his career going forward. It seems the nets have plenty of shooting though w/Outlaw, Morrow, and Lee.

Miller/Rudy/Pendergraph/(future pick?) for Harris might be more like it.

I wouldn't mind getting back Lee (if Rudy and Bayless were gone), imagine our D with him, Batum, and Mathews. And Lee is more of a legit '3' than Mathews right? Or is that not true?

This works at the espn trade machine

Boston gets:
R. Fernandez
J. Pryzbilla
J. Pendergraph

San Antonio gets:
A. Miller
J. Bayless
R. Wallace

Portland gets:
G. Davis
T. Parker

They risk losing Parker if they don't sign him, so they do this deal with the ability to cut Sheed, ask Sheed to retire and/ or use Sheed to trade his expiring contract sometime after December 15th. In all instances, it is a cap space manuever while picking up Bayless and Miller....and Miller also expires in a year. So while they don't get a major player in return, they are getting almost 14 million in cap space next year. It is a good rebuilding move should Duncan also look to retire.

Same goes for Boston. With the caveat that insurance will be paying for Pryzbilla. And who knows? What if Joel makes it back for a playoff run? Joel>Davis come playoff time for the Celtics. Then at the end of the season, they get cap space or a trading card in JPEC.

Parker / Johnson / Mills
Roy / Matthews / Williams
Batum / Cunningham / Babbitt
Aldridge / Davis
Oden / Camby

We'd be playing the Lakers for the WCF

Sounds like Chicago wants to trade us James Johnson (16th pick in 2009) for Rudy. It also sounds like they just want to trade him in general. I know nothing about this guy. Anyone seen him play?

Johnson didn't play much last year so I doubt many people around here watched him play (myself included).

Here's his draftexpress.com profile: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/James-Johnson-5053/playerblog/ which seems to suggest he could at least be a useful backup 3, but he's not exactly a great 3 point shooter which might make him a tough fit for a Nate McMillan coached team.

At this point could he really be a worse option than keeping a disgruntled Rudy? I doubt it.

I remember being very interested in him prior to the draft because of his size; he could (in theory) match up physically with Lebron, and he has the skill set to play out on the perimeter. But in all reality, he is basically a carbon copy of Dante Cunningham--if you add 30 lbs and subtract some BBIQ. I'd like to think that we can do better, but I think I'd be deluding myself.

Well, I just posted in the other thread, so I won't bother to repost the link, but basically if you'll take JJ I'm certainly cool with it as a Bulls fan.

The other problem is that you can't take back his salary without giving up Cunningham or Pendergraph too.

Also, I see no real logic to taking on JJ's $1.7M (or really, anyone) for Rudy. You guys are pretty stacked depth wise as most every position. So whomever you get back is pretty unlikely to play much. Given that fact, why take back a guy who's going to get paid a bunch of money. If you take a future #1, it could turn out to be a useful player, and it's also one that causes no problems now.
