Maxiep and I got into it yesterday on the board and it resulted in a bet between us . . . which actually helped sooth the situation in my eyes as we were both willing to stand behind our thoughts without any more insults.
The bet is simple . . . will the Blazers bring a lawsuit with regard to the Miles situation, against Boston or Memphis or their GMs within 1 year of the date Miles plays his 10th game. If yes, maxiep wins. If no, I win. The stakes: $500.00
This bet extends to the board in this way . . . if I win the bet, the next game, after I get the check, we pick a location (ie Buffalo Wildwings) and drinks and food are on me (up to $500 including tip). I am hoping maxiep extends the same offer.
So, maxiep and I will be watching all lawsuits filed by the Blazers and hopefully we all go out afterwards, get drunk and laugh about all this.

FYI-The bet turned into a good way to diffuse the situation, both willing to stick to our positions without insults or questioning intelligence . . . just good old fashion putting up. In the end, win or lose, we both laugh about it . . . so it was taking a negative attacking of each other on the board and hopefully turning it into a positive experience for all. I know, I say that now, because I don't have to cut the check right now . . . and maxiep's got wind of something to support his position. . . so yeah I'm nervous . . . but issue resolved and if maxiep is in on the second part. . . many posters will end up drunk by all this . . . and that is always a good thing.

Edit: maxiep is starting to backtrack on the bet (we have a whole PM thread on it, but whatever) Right now I guess there is no bet.
