That's gotta mean something, given their destruction of the Spurs.

We also got our asses handed to us the four other games.

Game 6 wasn't that bad.

I rather 4-2 with 4 blowout losses than getting swept in any fashion.

So, you're saying we're better than San Antonio?

The same San Antonio we swept during the regular season?

I agree.

I guess I'm just increasingly cynical, but this does nothing to comfort me whatsoever.

San Antonio was a lower seed than us fer fucks sake.

"We won two games!!!!!!"

deary, deary me.

What the Suns are doing is amazing. The way they drubbed us in Game 3 on the road. The way they trailed by 14 in Game 5 and still
blew us out. And Game 6- Nash has 6 turnovers in the 1st quarter, Amare has only three rebounds, Martell and Rudy shoot the lights out, and the Suns still win. Same thing in the SA series. Didn't matter how great SA played in stretches and how badly the Suns played in stretches, somehow the Suns always had more points at the end of the game. I'm impressed. I hope they win it all. Nash deserves it.

Yeah, we were so many games better than the Spurs, right?

Um, WHAT?

You really REALLY REALLY try way too hard.

Sorry, I don't consider doing better than a team that's worse than us an accomplishment.

Even so, can't wait for our new banner next year.

"WON 2 MORE GAMES VS. THE SUNS THAN SAN ANTONIO DID 09-10"

I hope they come out with the same kind of intensity against L.A. in the conference finals. Maybe Channing can keep Bynum or Gasol out of the paint on defense. On the flip side, they could get thrashed by LA's bigs.

It's pretty obvious that Tince is actually, in fact, Nate McMillan's agent.

Man, some of you guys work really, really hard at being negative.

Let me see if I understand:

"This is a crap team that overachieved for 2 games out of 6." = optimistic.

"This team underperformed and can do better." = pesimistic.

Glad we cleared that up!

No. You lost, anyway. Don't make something out of nothing.

I wish! I'd probably be making a hell of a lot more money!

You must have blended my post with whoever created this thread. I'm not thrilled we won 2 games, I just felt at the time it wasn't as tragic as some people make it out to be.

I also don't use "seeds" to show the strength of a teams and their success, especially in a year where the West was so close from 2-8.

What do you use? Refrigerator magnets?

Tince is right. Seeding means very little, especially when the Spurs are involved.

Perhaps you noticed that Pop is known to rest his players and coast before the playoffs? Seeding doesn't mean that much.

We were the higher seed and beat them all 3 times we played.

If that's not enough evidence for you two that we were a better team than them this year, I simply can't help you.

What I think is funny is Popovich made the same adjustments Nate did, and ended up in even worse shape. The facts are, you can't make adjustments your personnel don't allow you to make. Unfortunately for them, RJ is in even worse outside shooter than most of Portlands outside shooters.

Spurs have been a lottery team for 2 years now, edged into the playoffs only by preferential officiating.

We'd have swept them easily even with our depleted lineup had we gotten past the Suns.

What was our roster when we beat the Spurs 3 times? Were we missing our best player for all of them?

+1.

Who's saying we aren't better than the Spurs?
