The Brooke Olzendam Story

Good read. Sad about her husband, so young and so soon after they married.

Good read, happy she got her dream job, the part about her husband was pretty sad though...

Just when I thought I couldn't respect and admire this woman any more...

She's REALLY good at what she does. I've been following the Blazers forever and she's easily they best sideline reporter they've ever had. Seriously, I keep waiting for the announcement she's leaving us for a bigger market. She definitely has the talent to go as far as her heart wishes.

While I've respected her competence at her job, I had no knowledge of her back story. I'm happy that she's living her dream, but losing her husband so suddenly and so young is just incredibly sad. I would have never guessed she'd endured something so tragic at such a young age. I hope she's a Blazer for life, but if she does move on to something bigger, I wish her the best. She's worked hard to get where she is and deserves any success that comes her way.

Brooke is hot, but the Utah Jazz have the most hottest courtside Reporter in the League

Booke is cute as a button (old guy expression), no doubt about it, but to me, what makes someone exceptionally attractive is talent and Brooke has that in spades. She's so much more than just another pretty face. I actually look forward to her sideline segments and post game interviews. Shes that good at what she does. She deserves to be admired for her talent even more than her looks (not that she's lacking in the looks department in any way).

What I like best about Brooke (even more so than the outstanding exterior package) is that she comes across as 100% “real”. What you see is what you get....and it leaves you wanting more. I thought Rebecca Harlow was the hottest thing to come down the pike in years but she was so plastic....and transparently ambitious for bigger things. Her interviews with some of the players (LMA in particular) made me feel uncomfortable because they felt overly intimate. She wasn’t real. Brooke comes off as the “little sister” or “buddy” that the players genuinely like and admire and they clearly respond positively to her. She has chemistry that blends well with the current team. I wish her great things but hope like hell she sticks around Portland.

And FWIW, I believe she found love again and remarried.

You got Rebecca all wrong sir. Definitely down to earth, genuine person. She wanted to be here and the previous director of broadcasting who is no longer with the team made budget cuts and only had her working home games. Thats small time right there, so of course Rebecca looked to move on. You guys can have your opinions about these people on how they do their job, but just wanted to let you know how Ms. Haarlow really was as a person.

Well gosh.....I sure hope my perceptions of Ms. Olzendam aren’t as skewed as my perceptions of Ms. Harlow.....we can only base our opinions on what we see.....and sometime hear. My apolgies to Ms. Harlow for any aspersions I may have cast.

Shoot man, you can only judge on what you see on tv or if you got a chance to meet them.

I like Brooke, but I liked Rebecca Harlow more. Cool story though. Always love learning more about people.

Hot comes in many forms and I can't imagine another sideline reporter being any classier and more prepared than she is as the Blazers and us fans are lucky to have her.

Well said!

I didn't know she was a fellow Coug. I like her even more now!! Go Cougs!!
I worked with a couple guys who were Cougars. They always rooted for Oregon State to beat the Huskies and the Ducks. One of them used to be a wide receiver for the Cougars. Had one touchdown pass thrown at him. He grabbed it and dropped it. One of those situations where you wish you had a time machine and could go back in time.

I was working up in Seattle for Boeing when the Huskies fans were calling for Oregon State to get out of the conference. A football game between the two schools came up and OSU beat the Huskies. Must have been about 1983 or '84. I went around to all the desks of Washington Alumni and rubbed it in the next working day. I kept hearing snickering from neighboring desks. I went up to one and said something about why the snickering. The reply was that they graduated from WSU and loved it that OSU beat the Huskies in Seattle. Sweet.

Brooke is fantastic at her job, and I enjoy her reports as much as anything on a game night basis. Sure she's beautiful, but you can tell she's not just a pretty face, but has a beautiful soul as well. Her caring for the Blazers like us fans comes through as well, and I dig that. She's the full meal deal. Smart, fun, beautiful, and a Blazer fan. She's the woman of my dreams, but being i'm probably almost as old as her dad, that dream has already sailed. That being said, I hope she continues with the Blazers as long as she wants too. But talented sports reporters like her are on a path of super success. She's the bomb.

Brooke is much more professional and prepares much better. Rebecca Harlow always seemed a bit forced and not near as natural. I'm sure she is a very nice lady, but just not in the same league in my opinion. Brooke has the potential to be the next Erin Andrews and I expect her moving up (unfortunately for us Blazer fans) in the future.

Brooke could be better than Erin, IMO. Nah, she already is.

One more thing, At the Blazers/Nuggets game here in Denver in April, our seats were in the 2nd tier above where she sat and prepared. A couple of fans came down to speak to her, and you could tell her sweetness is real. She posed for a picture with multiple fans. So cool.
