The Clippers got SCAAA-REWWWEEEED last night

I hate both teams, but the Clippers definitely got screwed. The ball was obviously off of OKC and it was reviewed. It should have been Clipper ball. Whatever other mistakes were made is irrelevant. This was a reviewed call and was blown. That shouldn't happen.

Believe it or not they actually made the right call. Per the NBA rulebook, rule 8 section 2c:

http://mediacentral.nba.com/media/mediacentral/Official-NBA-Rule-Book.pdf

"The ball is caused to go out-of-bounds by the last player to touch it before it goes out,
provided it is out-of-bounds because of touching something other than a player. If the ball is
out-of-bounds because of touching a player who is on or outside a boundary, such player
caused it to go out. If a player has his hand in contact with the ball and an opponent hits the
hand causing the ball to go out-of-bounds, the team whose player had his hand on the ball
will retain possession
."

But thats not entirely what happened.

Dude slapped his wrist, the ball bobbled, then he flailed (read: flopped) and pushed the ball out w/his own hand.

Sure, hits the hand causing the ball to go out of bounds, but what if he hits the hand and then the ball hits the other hand and goes out of bounds? Or a knee? Or a foot?

Very Good Points. IDK. What I do know is the Jackson was a dumba$$ for not passing the ball to Durant or Westbrook.

The refs had the balls to make the situation right and gave the balk to OKC. Good on them.

Paul clearly fouled Westbrook. No phantom call.

The refs did not screw the Clippers. Chris Paul did.

That's not what the replay is for though. The replay is to see who the ball went off. It went off OKC. It's not up to the refs to change the rules as they see fit. That's why the NBA sucks so much in the first place. Refs taking matters into their own hands and calling things they shouldn't call.

The Clippers didn't get screwed, they choked. More specifically Chris Paul choked. Let's review.

With 17 seconds left, Paul expecting a foul attempts to hoist a 3/4 court shot for some dumb reason and Westbrook strips him. If he holds onto the ball, the Clipps win the game at the line. Then with 6 seconds left Paul fouls Westbrook on a 3 pointer! Then the final play Paul dribbles into nowhere instead of pulling up for the jumper and turns the ball over. Then with 1 second left he doesn't even bother to foul, he lets time run out.

This one was all Chris Paul. Probably the biggest choke job by a single player I've ever seen in a playoff game.

The refs look worse giving the ball to the Clippers in that situation

Instead of Reggie Jackson shooting FTs t tie the game it would have been Clippers ball. THAT is being screwed by the refs.

Saying the refs screwed the Clippers is dumb. Chris Paul did far more to lose that game for the Clippers than the refs did.

Idc

The result of the play ended up being right. That's all that matters to me.

OKC gets screwed if it's the other way around.

I thought the foul at the end was wrong. But I went back through it a couple of times and it looks like they got it right. But right, s__ty game by both sides. Rivers has a right to be livid.

It amazes me that some of you are still surprised when shit like this happens. The NBA wants the Durant/LeBron finals matchup.

You said that last year and it didn't happen.

Nate- didn't you say the NBA wanted the Rockets to beat us? Well, all our wins were close games. They clearly could've fixed thos games against us but didn't.

Eric, I legitimately think we weren't supposed to win game 6. The refs made two extremely questionable calls that should have sent the game back to Houston. Unfortunately for them, Dame decided the series needed to end.

wait its not big market teams that get the calls now? :sigh: I'm falling behind on who the NBA loves more

Hm. I see.

I completely agree with this assessment. We aren't supposed to be here right now. So let's screw with the NBA some more!

It's the superstars, just like its always been.

I always thought it was big market teams back in the early 2000's and stars like KD and co werent supposed to go to small markets.

I think its ironic Doc said that if the out of bounds went their way they would've got the ball up two with under 24 seconds left and surely won.

That was the exact scenario they already had when CP3 turned it over!

If they'd got the ball 3 more times I think they would've found a way to lose that game. The call looks like it was blown to me but it wasn't 100% clear, and the rule adds another possible explanation. How many years have we seen reviews in the NFL where close calls don't go the correct way. This stuff happens all the time and the best way to avoid it is not play like crap.

I can't believe some of you seriously think Paul Allen would let the league screw him out of playoff wins? Remember who the commissioners boss is, its the owners. Each owner is competitive as hell and spends hundereds of millions to have a team as their play toy. Zero chance any of them would let some figurehead orchestrate a plan to lose them a series they legitimately won.

People. Your hand is only part of the ball when you are holding or dribbling it. If you are shooting it, your hand is NOT part of the ball. Reggie was going toward the bucket and he gathered (Habitual shooting motion) the ball and was slapped on the hand. He should have been shooting 2 free throws.
