Ok.This conflicts with a report I heard yesterday evening on PBS Newshour that the number stolen was 3% of what was allocated.

$100 billion is less than 3% of $3.4 trillion.give out money and it gets abused.
I thought that if we helped people, they would do the right thing and get on their feet and contribute to society?
Nobody wants to do shit jobs for dirt cheap. Shocker. No body wants to work. Just wants shit gifted to them.
We end up on this earth through no choice of our own, but that doesn’t mean the world owes us a living. We have a choice to either survive, or to curl up and die. Call me cynical, but most jobs are “shit jobs”. I had a job (a career even!) that paid a living wage and provided good benefits, including retirement. That said, I hated every second of my job for the last twenty years of it. Tough shit. I had myself and my family to provide for. So I ate the dysfunction and went to work every day. I didn’t have the time or energy (or skills) for any job I might have considered “dream”. It wasn’t up to the government (other people) to prop me up if I didn’t want to work the job I had. No one is owed a living…..nor should they be. No one is owed their “dream job” (if they even know what that is)……nor should they be. What I personally find ironic is that most of these people are only qualified (if even that) for the jobs they don’t want and refuse to take. Too many people refuse to even try. That’s as much on them as it is their parents and the education system. And expecting every job to pay a so called “living wage” doesn’t solve anything. As wages go up, so do prices. It’s a vicious cycle. I guess some folks would rather play the victim card and either starve to death, or leech off family/society than hold themselves accountable for their own survival and/or happiness. Whatever happened to starting at the bottom and working your way up? Isn’t that what’s made this country so “great” to begin with (or so the fairy tale goes). Americans have gotten so f**king weak and whiny.Nobody wants to do shit jobs for dirt cheap. Shocker.
Maybe if we make people miserable enough they will accept more abuse for less compensation!?!?
Then we can complain when they protest!!
Fucking plebs... Why did we ever get rid of slavery? Our lives have gotten so much more difficult since then.
Nobody suggested anybody owes us anything. You said you had a living wage. Most are willing to work a shit job for a living wage.We end up on this earth through no choice of our own, but that doesn’t mean the world owes us a living. UBI! UBI! UBI!You know if we had universal health care then you (or many like you) would not have to be stuck in a job they hate. You could take risks and start a business, or quit and take time finding a better job. The safety net gives you options that I am sorry you didn't have. I also was stuck in a job I didn't care for, but I don't think others need to suffer the same fate just because i had to. Honestly I think boomers are just bitter that young people are able to finally leverage a system that is stacked against them. How much did you pay for for education and house again?
Why not?

You gotta pay taxes on the looted merch
Not if you claim you're an Instagram influencer... bro.
Think about how many people aren't filing correctly that now will have to.Dude, even fucking VENMO is gonna start sending 1099s if you click for goods and services.

As a dog, I don't have a social security number so I don't have to pay taxes.
Yep. Just think of how many people sell on those platforms that don't claim those sales on their taxes. Lots of resellers.Ebay is gonna 1099 you if you sell more than $600 worth of stuff.
https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/service-and-payments/2022-changes-to-ebay-and-your-1099-k.html
- Starting on Jan 1, 2022, IRS regulations require all businesses that process payments, including online marketplaces like eBay, to issue a Form 1099-K for all sellers who receive $600 or more in sales.
- The new tax reporting requirement may impact your 2022 tax return that you may file in 2023. Starting in January 2022, look for emails and alerts from us that will help explain what’s changed, and what you need to do next.
- If you haven’t already given us your Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN), we’ll ask you to provide it once you reach $600 in sales.
- Since this information is required for all sellers with sales over a certain amount, if you don’t provide us with a SSN or ITIN, your payouts will be put on hold, your ability to list and sell on eBay may be restricted, and we may deduct backup withholding from future payouts.
- Before January 2022, you may have received a Form 1099-K for selling more than $20,000 and 200 transactions, or selling in states with reduced thresholds. A Form 1099-K for the year 2021 will be provided to you by Jan 31, 2022.
$600 though? Some people just selling some of their own shit to get rid of.Yep. Just think of how many people sell on those platforms that don't claim those sales on their taxes. Lots of resellers.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much the gig job economy is affecting workers. It's changing the game. Need money? Work for a few hours and literally get paid the same day.
I checked just now on Taskrabbit for someone to deep clean my kitchen and bathroom. Some are charging $80-120 an hour!
