If you never saw that $1k again, would it seriously affect your life? If so then reconsider, If not the yolo bro, let's go. Personally I would split that up between a few of your favorite of the above mentioned stocks, rather than all gme at this point.
That's my outlook. I am viewing this as a moment in time and I'd rather be in on it for the potential. If I lose the $1k I lose it. What do you recommend for the others, splitting up $500? Is $500 or 250/125/125 of others really enough to make much?

I downloaded Robinhood...Been reading and WSB seems to think it can hit $1k conservatively. A couple questions from a newb:

1) When do you recommend trying to sell? I put $1k into GME for the hell of it.
2) If I do sell for a profit, is that just money I have to claim on 2021 taxes for the CG tax?
3) What's your guys' outlook on it? When are you planning to sell?

You have of pay taxes on any gains, it would be next year though. One way to play the volatility might be to set a limit buy order for a really low price so if will auto buy when it hits that price. Say $200... That way you are more likely to be in the money and less likely to be caught holding a bag. With the current volatility, it will probably hit the price and if it doesn't then just be ok with missing it. If you get a buy then set a limit sell order. Rinse, repeat till the news changes

I don't really want to advise you on exactly how to spend your money. You gotta do some leg work on your own.

My positions are that I have zero GME. I am not in it all. I got in BB and AMC last week so I am already in the money but I plan on holding them for the mid term. I own PLTR and plan on holding if for the long term. After that I just lots of boring apple, amazon, walmart, boeing and such. There are lots of good deals on solid companies after today's down day.

Yeah obviously I have a lot of work to do on the research side, its been something I've put off a long time, I guess this was the straw that finally broke the camels back. I guess what I'm looking for is just someone's general outlook/mindset when it comes to this. What is your thought process behind BB and AMC last week?

I was on them last week as soon as GME took off. I've been a GME doubter, I mean come on everyone it's basically the blockbuster of video games, so I didn't really buy the short squeeze story. When if took off I couldn't see it going as high as it is but I did see some people on reddit talking about AMC and BB as the next thing. The price was cheap so figured it was worth a few bucks. After thinking about it, I doubled down on AMC because I am a degenerate so I had to. There really is no fundamentals to these picks other than price, paying attention to what is going on and getting lucky.

For those that don't follow wsb here is some of their "gain porn" being used go hype people up

I invest a set number of dollars per week. If an event like today happens, I invest a little more. This is all play money for me, I wouldn't miss it if I lost it all, although it would suck.

I have several different watch lists of stocks. I usually look on twitter for recos, but you have to sort through the BS.

I usually buy dips, so when the market has a bad day, that's when I pick up stocks.

I basically do the same as EL prez and it's really good advice. A little bit every week or month adds up over time. When the market dips (like today) I'll put extra into good dip stocks. Everything l buy, I know why I bought it and have a plan for how long i will own it. Plans change but I try to not be impulsive but fail in that regard often. Building a watch list and paying attention to about 10 stocks is a good start, you will be current with news and will start to see buying opportunities.

Also, you shouldn't panic sell. I've done that and the stock has skyrocketed afterwards. Just start small and try not to have losses get to you.

Yahoo finance is pretty good for tracking and news. You can set price alerts make notes and build multiple lists.

Cathie Wood and ARK ETFs are absolute fire. Read up on her, she is a visionary.

I use the robinhood app to track stocks. I find a hot stock and they show at the bottom what other people are holding who own that stock. Then I look those up twitter, etc.

I have them bookmarked by industry.

Personally, I've done best with electric and alternative energy.

Track:

$FCEL
$BLNK
$PLUG
$SBE

and find some related companies.

I've made big gains on all of them, so you're not gonna get great value. I've been buying them when they fall red about 6-10%.

WallStreetBets is about to be Section 230'd. Discord just pulled the plug.

Says its about "hateful speech" and not related to Gamestop....

I am watching the breaking news now. Wow those mf's, this is just going to piss off wsb people who already hate the system. It's going to be war now. Meme stocks to the moon!

Regulation of some sort is coming. Who knows what, you know wall street is trying to come up with solutions to end this all.

And it is here. Well, they just paid off the right tech companies to pull the plug.

Timberrrrrrr!

Go big or go home.

AMC sold $300m worth of shares. Reddit has actually saved AMC from bankruptcy. With the end of the pandemic in sight they are actually a decent investment now. Self fulfilling prophecy. It's on the regular news and down in after hours. I'm thinking about doubling down in the morning.

Got it, buy more $GME.
