Maybe i'm crazy to get so worked up about this, but if it's so perfectly legal then why doesn't EVERY team in the league do this move in crunch time??

I want to see what will happen if Andre Drummond will approach Lebron James while he's guarding Jackson in crunch time, use his hands to shove him out of the way so that Jackson will get a nice look at a 3 or an easy layup.
Anyone here has a shred of a doubt about Lebron getting his whistle right away?

As a ref who sees literally thousands of screens every year, there's absolutely nothing wrong with either of those screens.

I'd honestly love to hear why they're okay (especially the top one). I see Green moving, holding, etc., but I'm not a ref just someone used to the old school pick.

I don't see how those plays are legal man.
In the first one Green is approaching Aminu from behind while he can't see him coming and grabs his arm while using his legs to push Aminu off Curry.
In the second one he is literally moving while blocking Aminu's body.

If these were in the 90's then i would shut my mouth, but in today's rules? that is flat out unfair and the inconsistency in calling these type of things is really hurting the game at the moment.

You have to know what the definition of is illegal contact is. Since you have access, look that one up. An illegal screen is a foul. None of those things above is foul. I see marginal contact at best (which is NOT illegal contact and should never be called) Regardless of the man is moving or not there is no foul to give in either situation.

Edit: in the2nd one he literally slips the pick and goes down the lane. If Aminu gets fooled on that that's him. Also w when green is going down the lane THAT contact is also marginal.

Marginal contact is not illegal contact.

The second one there is NO screen and our players switch on purpose. Green's goal is accomplished with very minimal contact.

I just don't see what everyone is up in arms about.

I look at TONS of video clips of basketball plays. It's literally one of my favorite things to do. If you have more video send it my way.

Never of these 2 plays (in the playoffs especially) would get me to blow my whistle.

So i'm allowed to just approach a player who is defending the ballhander and grab his left arm?

In the 2nd video you can clearly see Green is moving towards Aminu's torso as explained in the 4th part of the rule, i get that what he does after that is legal.

If this is legal why do other teams set stationary picks? why don't we just let Davis or Plumlee walk towards Dame's defender and grab their arm while walking forward?

Your explanation is good enough, i just want to see consistency for all 30 teams with these type of plays.

Dviss, in the first video is he not setting a screen without giving the defender enough space? I thought you had to set your screen at least a step away from the man your picking. Green goes and sets a screen right at Aminu's side point blank.

As far as the 2nd clip. It looks like Green violates multiple rules. One he set the screen without giving Aminu enough space, and then he continues to his screen into Aminu. Davis and Aminu switched because of the Green pick.

None of the Warrior points that they scored while cheating count so we really won the series!

Same. I'd like to know why the holding and pushing during Golden State's "screens" is allowed? Why is running up to and into a player, then grabbing and pushing the player away from Curry, a legal play? They do it all the time.

Simply force the NBA to stop deliberately ignoring fouls to prop up players and teams for financial profit.

On a fair and level playing field, without being aided by cheating, all players and all teams are human, having both strengths and vulnerabilities.

You can set a side screen as close as being right next the defender. A back screen is different. When setting a screen from behind, the screener must give the defender what's called "time & distance". Enough distance so the defender has time to get around the screen.

2 things.

1. I didn't see the hold of Aminu's inside arm.

2. I didn't see how the play was officiated on the floor.

So. The C (free throw line ref) can't see shit. His positioning doesn't allow him to see through the play. He "position adjusts" VERY late. He should've adjusted as soon as the pick arrived. He has a closed look. The moving toward and creating marginal contact is not the foul imo. The hold of the arm is certainly a foul and should've been called. But the trail is out of position too. He has players almost in front of him and also cannot see from that angle either.
