Not using facts or data to support your position is how we got to Trump and January 6th. So I try to attack that sort of thing whenever possible.

No one is taking anything personal. You are simply incapable of understanding and accepting that someone can disagree with you and believe your numbers do not directly reflect our country.
You cannot accept that some people disagree with you. If you know you are right, then just consider me wrong and move on. Its not that hard to do.

I'm fine with people disagreeing with me. But when a person starts a thread and specifically tags me to discuss it, I assume they want a discussion. Why else start the thread? Is this thread not about debating our judicial system and what rights and responsibilities they should and should not have? Should we make another thread?

If not, I'm simply asking what data, facts, or reason do you have for thinking Americans would respond differently to German style rehab than Germans?

What is different about America that we should lock up 600% more than our fair share of prisoners compared to the rest of the world?

I know you didn't address this to me, but sometimes there are other things that makes sense enough to some to overrule a cost, one way or another.
Sometimes the joint satisfaction of knowing an evil entity is no longer on this planet is justification enough for people to make sense of it.

I disagree. I consider it a cleansing of pure evil. There are times when lines must be drawn. Rare, no doubt. But a clear cut mass murderer would be one of them. And i believe the majority of civilians would agree with me.

I've read the thread and am not finding answers other than basically, just because it makes you feel better.

The poll supports my statement that people in this country support illogical things that make them feel better.

He is guilty. I don't care if he lives or dies. Makes no difference in my life, as long as he isn't free to harm another innocent person.

And if we allow government to kill people we know are guilty they will kill people we don't know are guilty as well, including some who are innocent.

Every government who has ever had the power to execute prisoners has executed innocent people.

Nope. Let's take the case of Brunei, which gained independence in 1984. They have the death penalty for a wide variety of offenses, including sodomy, blasphemy, drugs, firearms, arson... but they haven't executed anyone, so therefore have have not executed any innocent people.

At least not officially.
