As for being held accountable....I'm reminded of my climatology prof back in college. He said that if you aren't sure what the weather will be like today, just tell people it'll be the same as yesterday. The majority of the time you'll be right. I've found this little nugget of wisdom to be incredibly accurate in many life circumstances.

Trump has lived 3/4 of a century without ever facing any consequences for any of the horrible things he's done. My money is on him keeping the streak alive. I wish it weren't so, but I bet he never goes to jail, never goes broke, lives to 107 and dies getting a blow job from a 17 year old model who looks like Ivanka. And his last thought will be that he is the best person ever.

I'm not a religious man, but I can see why people would be if only because there are people like Trump in the world. You just want to believe he'll face the justice in the next life he never got in this one.

But all of those people hadn't already shown the "superpower" (per mook) of weathering tons of scandals and known shitty behavior. Like normal people, when their horrible behavior became public and obvious, they got crushed. Trump has had a lifetime of Epstein/Cosby/Weinstein-esque scandals and crimes and has continuously failed upward.

I agree with mook--until proven otherwise, I assume nothing will stick to Trump. Some people are just lucky enough to skate through.

After a lifetime of watching people in power blatantly piss on the legs of the populace stupid to elect them and, with rare exceptions skate free each and every frickin’ time, I have absolutely no expectation that those individuals will ever be held accountable. And I’m sure they have those individuals have the exact same expectation. We are only getting what we have shamefully earned......

Those will get picked apart after 31 civil lawsuits get done with him....Trump has a lot of ghosts in the closet out there...now Scotland says he can't enter the country. He has an Iranian target on his back....it's just not looking too good in the orange sunset

I have said all along that in the end it would be Trump's hubris that would get him, and it did.

He could have just played his "I was cheated" shtick for a couple of weeks, whined like always, have his cultists believe they were all robbed, and then called it a day, riding off into a rich sunset, duping them for many more years.

No longer, it seems.

Being president was the biggest crackpipe he ever sucked on....he wants to keep sucking on it and it's all he sees in front of him...now he's deranged even more than before
 
Even Moscow Mitch is turning on him. Trump has outlived his usefulness. They got right wing judges, tax cuts for the rich, and companies can pollute all they want. But his incompetence, especially around COVID-19, got him voted out and cost Republicans their Senate majority. McConnell is no more loyal than Trump himself. He won't stick with a loser.

I just finished reading Mary Trump’s book about Uncle Donny two weeks ago. Written over a year ago, she nailed him perfectly. She pretty much saw this coming. And one point she made is that whenever Trump finds himself in a corner, with absolutely NO way out, he refuses to cut his losses an/or concede in any way. Instead he doubles (and even triples) down every damn time. His ego can’t handle it any other way. The guy is not going to go quietly into that good night. And I’m still not sure he isn’t going to rise from the dead and continue to cannibalize us until this country drives a stake through his heart (or the rumor thereof). His minions need to understand that he is gone and he ain’t coming back. We’re a very long way from that at this point in time.....

That's why he's probably going to be both impeached and convicted and tossed out the back door on his ass.
