Oh, and a Latvian player had the dunk of the tournament off an inbounds play. I'm sure it'll be posted soon.

Here it is: Freimantis puts Nic on a poster

It made the top 5 of the day, predictably:

A few months ago it was reported that the Warriors had some kind of deal with him to come to summer league and then training camp on a non-guaranteed deal. He ended up not playing for their SL team and they've stocked up on random bigs for TC so I assume hes no longer doing that.

This guy's talking about him on Twitter:

While he's freakishly long, he still doesn't look very strong - especially the legs. But I guess we see him back in the NBA at some point.

He's playing well at the Eurobasket averaging 10.7 ppg and 6.9 rpg in less than 20 minutes per contest.

Ajinca said things didn't work out in the NBA for him because he was not mentally or physically ready at the time.

  • HoopsHype ‏@hoopshype 1h
Ajinca said he's focused in the Eurobasket and letting his agent do work. Thinks he will be back in the NBA eventually.

French big Alexis Ajinca said this morning his contract with Strasbourg still includes an NBA out. Agent looking at options in the States.

Keep up the great work in this thread, Rasta. We all read it, even when we don't post.

Ballsy: Sergio Rodriguez throws an alley-oop to Rudy Fernandez with one minute to go and Spain up by two. Two points.

Strange . . . that used to be the future of the Blazers

Spain vs France just started

Seems like Nic has been playing France team ball for many months. I thought the guys got a longer summer break than this. This is also the off year where there is no world championships nor the Olympics. Hope it doesn't hurt Nic's Blazers production.

France making a comeback with Nic on the bench (3 fouls). Then Claver's good defense on Parker and on the other end a Sergio-Rudy alley oop.

France cuts it to 1 with no Parker, no Batum!

And then ANOTHER Sergio-Rudy alleyoop.

Holy fuck - France came back to win! (And Claver was the goat.)

I think France were happy about it:

Claver should've got the putback at the end of regulation. He may have been fouled though. Great block on Parker by Rudy just before that.

They really let them play in this game. This would've been just a constant trudge to the free throw line with NBA refs.

Claver wasn't scoring, but he was really doing a lot, particularly on D. And he was being played big minutes while Rubio was glued to the bench. And San Emeterio, who is a star in Spain and used to be played more than Claver at forward. Same with Mumbru. So this Eurobasket was a big step forward for Claver.

Thank god France won and Nic didn't have to punch Claver in the balls. We need them both back healthy. You would think between the two of them our wing D would be decent.

Sergio is so much better than he used to be. He almost brought Spain back into it by himself.

It's funny: they were never guarding each other. They put Batum on Calderon and Claver was guarding Diaw mostly (and doubling on Parker).
