This may be the best stretch since the Big Beast burst onto Blazertown right after the trade from the Nuggets. But what seemed like an emotionally charged explosion back then seems like the maturing of a monster as of late. I see less rushed shots, better decisions, and an uptick in efficiency with an increase in overall production.
In the last 6 games:
.588 FG% (50-85)
.750 FT% (33-44)
22.2 points
12.5 rebounds
31 mpg
If he can keep that up and Layman keeps getting consistent production, (minutes) this might have the makings of something that could prove more legit. A healthy/engaged Mo' will need to figure into that as well and it will help if Curry can continue his upward trajectory and if they get something out of Meyers or Collins.
Now that doesn't mean that some of the issues that are beyond hair-pulling have been fixed, but a dominant Nurkic is something most teams aren't able to deal with and creates opportunities for other more limited players on this roster.
Beast on!
